Well fellow footie fans what do you think. I personally hate what they have done and they should revert back to the cross.

Also don't care but amazed someone at Nike didn't point out it would just cause a fuss.

Sunak and Starmer should STFU though ... surely they have better things to do\worry about?

I think it's daft, but also agree it's nothing to do with government.

Just imagine what 25+% of yanks would do is someone re-did the American flag on their national kit. There'd be bedlam!

I am more concenred that they are charging £85/£125 (dependant on if you want the stadium or the adv version) for a football shirt.

They don't seem to have a problem with turning it shades of blue to support the police etc.

It depends on what the core features of the flag are. The British flag and American flag have distinctive designs that are not based on specific colours, so you would easily identify it if it was green, orange, and purple. The French or Irish flag are based on colours more than the pattern (or they would be interchangeable). The English flag is somewhere in between but changing the colours and adding stripes into it does change the flag IMO. Some changes like rotating it or altering the ratio don't fundamentally change it.

I dont care about the issue. Someone dropped a clanger at Nike and the FA thinking it would be ok though.

The issues is this type of topic brings out the worst in people, and they use this issue to drone on about everyone being woke. They defiantly aren't bigots though. nono

I can see how you’d be happy to throw away our heritage that many died for…to cover all advertising bases.

"What was going through your mind as you and your mates fought your way through the bocage, grandad"?

"I was thinking how we were fighting against a purple flag on the collar of a £125 football shirt".

No one is throwing away heritage. Another poster put these on the England thread. Was there the same outrage?

There has been loads of kits prior that never had the flag on it. Also as shown in the photos the flag symbol has been used before but a different colour.

The issue is that now you have certain people who are using this as a stick to beat certain demographics, or moaning at the world going woke.

Yet no one is batting an eyelid that it costs £125. That's ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE pounds. For a football shirt confused

The money involved in football is gross so why would this be any different yet we are still here supporting, plenty will buy the shirts regardless.

Like the shirt. Especially the away shirt. Shame my children won’t be getting me due to the price.

Counterfeit ones start from £25, that's where my money would be going if I wanted one.....but I'll stick with my 2012 away shirt without the cross smile

Yeah I really like the away top, it's a very nice blue. Also like the neck treatment, I can't stand collars on football shirts
