As it's my 40th in January thinking of a boys trip to Italy to see some football in the spring. Basing ourselves in Milan as lots of options once you add in Atalanta and Monza.

How does it work for tickets though, does anyone know? Don't really want to get into the membership and mailing list business you have to with English clubs if it can be avoided.

Last time I went was in 2002 when at Fiorentina you just walked up to a kiosk at the ground or bought them off the ultras groups. Probably changed days..

Buy them from the official website, safest way.

I'm a Lazio card holder now, but my first Lazio match I bought them off via gogo, Had to go to an office in the north of Rome on match day and pick up tickets.

Not sure if it’s changed but for Roma games you can get them from little supermarkets in the area around the stadium. Not 100% if it’s the same elsewhere either

The ticket has to have your name on it and you need ID that matches as well forgot to add that.

If your in Milan then you might as well see Milan or Inter play, they never sell out.

Yep. Been to San Siro 4 times. Last time Inter v Fiorentina last year. 10 euros to stand in the Curva Nord with the ultras. Similar with AC Milan. Buy online, print them off, enter the correct names on the website though as they'll be checked so be ensure to take ID to the stadium.

One thing to bear in mind is that all serie A games are televised. I've been caught out before buying tickets for Genoa for a Friday to Sunday trip only for the game to be moved to Monday night. Luckily though one of the Milan teams were at home on the Sunday so no biggy.

Also if new to European football culture just respect their culture. A group of young Italian ultras might not be as happy to see half and half scarfs and selfie sticks compared to some sections of the Etihad or Old Trafford.

Fantastic country for football so enjoy.

100% I am a regular in the Curva Nord at Lazio, and they will think nothing of kicking off. The stewards don't dare go into the section, they will wait for you to be thrown out by the Ultras before grabbing you.
