Before my time but my dad thought he was a great
Players when at rangers. we were lucky to have a few great players from the England team at that time.
The owner of the price of football podcast has tweeted that adjusting to todays prices his million pound transfer fee would be 253m today!

Just got back from a mush in Shepherds Bush - and he’s done me a cracking deal on some new old stock tracksuits.
Now normally they retail for £49 but I can let you have one for just £15 each….

He was a cracking player and I remember him fondly even though he never played for “my” team.
Firstly, he had a column in Tiger comic which I used to read enthusiastically, especially about his time playing in the North American Soccer League for Detroit Express whilst on secondment from Birmingham City.
My first pair of decent football boots were Adidas Trevor Francis - seen here (top left) in the 1981 Adidas catalogue with his image used as one of their endorsee players.
Lastly, quite remarkably given that he was a £1m player and Forest were European Cup holders, he played in a friendly at non-league Gravesend and Northfleet (now Ebbsfleet FC) in 1980 and I was there with the rest of my junior football team as some sort of birthday outing. He was the fastest player I’d ever see at that point.
The back story to the fixture is here;
