Women's world cup 2023
Discussion
The Women's World cup are almost upon us. Will the Lionesses do well in it after claiming the European cup last year?

There's reasons to be hopeful and excited but honestly, without Mead, Williamson and Kirby who are all game changers it will be tough. I think with them we should be making the final.
Retirees in Scott and White are also big names in the dressing room that will be missed, hopefully Bright will shake the rust off from injury.
A semi final exit is where I think we'll get.

Ooof, not a lot of interest.
Will post this anyway incase a lurker is interested. (UK Time)

Watched some highlights, times of matches are inconvenient for me… might try to catch the England game tomorrow.
Oh the highlights I watched, I was surprised to see the ref’s with a live mic, announcing their decisions like they do in American sports. Not sure I like that, it some how feels unnecessary. Perhaps it’s a good thing. If nothing else, it could be a fifa revenue source “VAR sponsored by…” running as a ticket while the decision is being made, followed by a graphic taking up half the screen, with the sponsors logo and the decision taken by the ref… hmmm…

Been watching a bit while waiting for the Ashes to start
It’s been OK , too much talk/focus about boosting the sport IMO BBC are treating women’s sport like a corporate growth project
Let the sport do the talking if it’s great it will grow it certainly has the platform now
Japan vs Zam is so far the most one sided game I’ve seen since .. City vs RM leg 2

Contrary to the above comments I watched the England match and thought the first 20 mins were ok but it did deteriorate over the next 70mins
Thought Haiti better than I'd have expected although they'd presumably been to the Jack Grealish school of football acting.
Typical women's football, there's little power in their shots, at goal particularly. England's Goaly saved a defeat though.
Must try harder.
