Very proud Hatter here tonight, but the job is far from done. Magnificent performance against a skilful, tricky (and sometimes rather dive-y; yes Diallo, especially you) Sunderland side.
I’ve not seen Kenilworth Road rocking like that much before, the atmosphere was sensational. Thought the Sunderland fans were class applauding us at the end, too.
Whoever we get at Wembley, it’ll be a horrendously difficult game!

Sunderland fan here. Obviously I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed but Luton were the better side last night and better overall over the two legs. Furthermore it would have been cruel if a team that finished with 11 more points than us didn't get their chance at Wembley.
Staying in the Championship is probably better for us, rather than going up and being beaten every week. Its been a great season for us, we have exceeded expectations, especially when it has been mostly done without any strikers. Looking forward to next season.

Shouted myself hoarse last night at the Cauldron of Noise. Fair play to Sunderland, they passed the ball around well but the shots they had from the edge of the box were thankfully off target. We had the energy and accuracy of passing that was so lacking on Saturday. Another season of progress, Wembley is a free hit.

Nope. Nothing against Luton per se, but it's good for the PL to be made up of big teams with decent stadiums. Like Sunderland or Middlesborough. If Luton go up, it'll be on merit, so that's that. But I don't think it's great for the image of the PL, especially abroad, to have games screened from Luton or Bournemouth's ground. They just aren't PL grounds. TwigtheWonderkid said:

I sort of get your point but how are clubs ever meant to get the finances to upgrade their grounds if they don't get it through promotion. Teams should be in their respective league based on merit not based on their stadium.Edited by RedWhiteMonkey on Wednesday 17th May 12:53
It's been an emotional ride, super proud of the entire football club, Big Mick and Gary Sweet have done an amazing job, recruitment has been phenomenal. We love the snide comments about our budget, our ground, our away end and the audacity that we're even thinking about promotion to the EPL - keep them coming

You guys have done exceedingly well this season after coming up from League One. With a couple of strong centre halves and a leader, you’ll be a force next season.Sunderland fan here. If (and a big if!) we do go up, I’ve no doubt we’ll get hammered most weeks, but I’ll take that for the financial injection which will go so far to paying for the new stadium we desperately need. Kenilworth Road is a wonderful old girl, and on nights like last night the atmosphere is something else, but we’ve a 6,000 strong season ticket waiting list and pretty much always struggle to accommodate the away following in the Championship.

Congrats to Luton. Played to their strengths last night, and sadly Sunderland just couldn't deal with the height of their players, nor find a way through the defence.
From a Sunderland perspective, we've had a season that's far exceeded any fans expectations, so even after defeat, most of us are more than happy with this season, having managed to finish in the top 6 without a real striker for much of the season, and without three of our first team eleven for the most recent matches. The aim this year was to stay up and establish ourselves back in the Championship, we did that, and more.
I hope Luton get promoted.

This is European super League territory,results on the pitch should be the only thing that determines where you are in the football pyramid

If they go up they expect to spend £10 million upgrading to meet Premier League standards......longer term they are planning on building a new stadium,the £100 million + they'll get for 1 season in the prem should hurry that along
