The thing is that the world outside Europe has almost nothing to offer to this. UEFA is already expanding the Champions' League to a larger single league format.

Yet to make it fair, there will have to be club teams from Asia, South America and Oceania who qualify? Unless FIFA just choose the 24 best teams for the spectacle?

And increasing the size of the World Cup is madness, 211 teams were at the start of the qualification phase, with the new group sizes, almost 1 in 4 will get through to the finals.. if those additional places were proportional to 2022 qualifying, just look at some of the teams who would qualify…. Iraq, Panama, North Macedonia, New Zealand, Peru….
