Where is the next Messi?

With Messi's reign about to come to an end, I'm wondering just where is the next footballing magician/genius?

We have very good technical players now, players with decent goal records etc, but the likes of Messi, Zidane, Best, Pele were on just a different level.

Is there anyone like this coming through anywhere?

I can't quite believe it, but I've just opened the BBC to read the sports news and there's an article covering just this... It's apparently Germany's Jamal Musiala.

Not that I can see ,but although football has become far more predictable now with players more like programmed sheep ,the changes to rules and everything that makes it much easier to score will mean someone will pop along who will be compared just on the stats without any thought given to the overall picture ( as we see so often now)

I think he's the only one close to competing on goals vs Messi & Ronaldos tally's. Just a shame Norway will always struggle to compete/qualify for major tournaments.

Don’t think there will be another Messi.

You have Haaland who is a monster goalscorer (the next Ronaldo)

and you have players like Pedri and Gavi who are the next Xavi/Iniesta.

No one can combine both like Messi

None that I can think of.
He's scored a few goals in his career, won a few trophies, but so have alot of players.

He doesn't even register as the greatest Argentinian, that remains Maradonna.

Now the downfall of Messi and Ronaldo is happening we have the likes of Mbappe, Haaland coming up.

I'm sure a new player will appear in the next few years as the game develops.

I don't think we'll see another era like the Messi / Ronaldo era where a player scores that many and dominates. among other things, I think the two spurred each other on to heights they may not have reached.

The next generational talents seem to be Haaland and Mbappé, I understand Mbappé wants to be part of PSG when they win the Champions League but he's wasted in the French League.

Bit like Tiger Woods.....I mean, he sunk a few putts in his time and won a tournament or two. But so have a lot of golfers.
