Women's Euro 2022 hosted by England
Discussion
England are hosting the Women's Euro 2022 in two weeks. All 31 matches to be shown live on BBC. Wonder if people are going to tune in to watch it and it boosts support for the womens game. Or is it going to be a shambles.

I'll do the usual split second realisation that the match the BBC are headlining is a women's match rather than a match I (or 90%+ of football fans) have an interest in, and then scroll down to the unimportant stuff about the men's game. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61717253

A bit different to when it was last held in the UK (North West) in 2005 when there were only 8 teams playing and the games were played at Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn, Warrington and Man City's ground.
Only the 3 England games, 1 semi and the final got crowds over 3,500
I went to the 3 games played in Blackpool. There were 2 or 3 good players on each team, but the rest were not very good.
I'll probably have them on in the background if there are any afternoon games.

That sky over the bar in the 3rd clip was like Ronny Rosenthal against Villa and that OG England scored against Germany was something else lol

You best not watch any mens football either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LqfTDW_sPw
They will give away lots of free tickets, price others at pennies, put it front and centre on BBC 1 at primetime and then claim it all shows how much interest and support there is for the women's game...
Let it succeed or fail on its own merits. Comedy being the obvious route!
actually one sport trans athletes competing in may make more appealing!

"Auntie" is beyond tedious. How about programmes that represent what people are interested in rather than pet social engineering projects or attempting to "mirror the make-up of society" - as seen by the race and gender obsessed fanatics? Ntv said:

If that's what TV channels did, you'd end up with non stop Love Island, other reality TV st and brain dead quiz shows where people win a million for knowing a European capital. Yes I watched it; it seemed like a really good atmosphere with a full crowd, and of course the result was the right one.
Typical opening game in a tournament really - Austria set up not to lose and were well organised defensively, but the better team won.
I was aware of the hype surrounding Lauren Hemp but she must have had an off night IMO. Thought Millie Bright was our best player.
Anyway, I'll watch the England games but probably not any of the others.

Goal was well taken......a deft lob over the keeper, not easy at short range. Lukaku would have lofted that out of Old Trafford and into the Etihad.
Yes, though the goalkeeping was incredibly poor. Watch it again. Goalie comes and stops. Didn't get close enough or spread herself enough. Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
