Crowd medical emergencies
Discussion
Does seem to be a lot of medical emergencies lately at football matches ( another one going on at the moment at Fulham). Hopefully it doesn't lead to any covid related reason or fuel the argument for anti-vaxers. Or is it that in football there is more emphasis on the responsibility for the wellbeing of all who attend nowadays as I can't remember many happening years ago. Hopefully all ends ok at Fulham. Respect to the clubs medical staff

I heard it discussed on the radio a few weeks ago, they were saying that the number of crowd medical emergencies hasn't really increased, what's changed is that games are being stopped when it happens and so they are getting a lot more attention. No idea if that's true or not, I missed what their data source was.
The reason racing had to stop at Buckmore Park was that the track only had one ambulance on stand by. When it had to go off to the hospital everything stopped until it came back.
I wonder if they stop the game at football matches because they only have one ‘crash’ team available? If the game went on, and a player was seriously hurt, or had a heart attack as well (and we have all seen this is not rare) then the medics would be too stretched to deal with both situations at the same time.
Sad news about the Fulham incident. How close we all are all the time. Go along to see a football match and never come home.
