18 minutes into the game and the linesman has had two offside calls for Hearts wrong.

It's only keeping the score down.

Full time officials are a must, had a little chuckle last night watching Beaton trying to keep up with the players as they broke up the park, looked like he was running in porridge.

Not much of a game last night despite the score line, first half was like a training match and a few of the reserves fully showed why they will be out the door soon. Highlight was young alex Lowry though, some excellent play and the finish for his goal was excellent.
I expected more from the ones that were given a rare chance but I suppose it shows the team selections are correct. Lowry was great, especially first half and deserved his mom. I'm struggling to think of an 18 year making such an impression on a game, he had huge potential.

Kelty Hearts have knocked St Johnstone out the cup. What a freak last season was that they won the double and have fallen this far.

I can't see Davidson surviving this.

Buggers.

I wouldn't be putting any money on St Johnstone to win. Terrible goal record and I'm sure they said that was 10 straight losses.

A fine playing and management career, and forever in our debt for bringing one Henrick Larsson to Celtic Park.

Celtic dominated the game against at Hearts for a long time. The game was comfortable but then switched off.

Neilson again trying to grill the ref for Celtic's first goal being offside. Firstly it was the second goal that was close, but it was probably on. He didn't mention Hearts' goal that was clearly offside.

Watching Sportscene now watching the games back to back there was a gulf in quality in the games.

Although Biton’s first yellow looked soft, his handball wasn’t and he should have been off. Don’t think Celtic’s goal was off, but Heart’s was, kind of evened up by the penalty. Overall can’t complain. Oh and Hatate’s goal was a real Archie style OOOF moment.

Tough match last night, really need all our regulars back and hopefully a signing or two to galvanise the team for the rest of the season.

Good to see Alex Lowry keep his space, if your good enough, your old enough. Kent and aribo back now and gio has extended his unbeaten run

Unreal that bitton wasn’t sent off last night, hopefully the compliance officer will do something. The Japanese boys goal last night was a cracker though, generated some power.

I dont get the shouts for Bitton to get sent off. The Hearts boy headers the ball from right behind Bitton onto his hand. He couldnt see the ball. It wasnt deliberate, but it was a hand ball. A penatly was given. Job done. Why would he get another yellow?

Celtic were brilliant in the first half, but tired badly in the second. Ange clearly didnt have faith in those on the bench to shore up the midfield and kept with the original 11 for as long as possible. Understandable given the amount of midfielders missing through injury.

On Biton - It wasn't shown in the highlights segment, but in the discussion afterwards. There was a challenge looked like 50/50 in the first half, yellow given but looked soft. Second half, in midfield a flick from a Hearts player and Biton put his hand up to block, almost playfully, but should have been a card. Neither anything to do with the penalty award.
On balance, and for the first half in particular, Celtic deserved the win, but needlessly close towards the end.

I thought Devlin got away with murder last night. What about the bit before halftime when he made an effort to pick a fight with a few Celtic players and he got Jota and Taylor booked? What was that all about?

The game should have be over comfortably. Switching off does look like an issue.

I only managed to watch the first half, and that was a massacre. Very, very good from Celtic. I am surprised to hear that it ended 2-1.

The refereeing was poor, far too lenient but inconistent with it.

Devlin should have been off for his carry-on with Taylor and Jota for example, but Jota should already have had a yellow when he grabbed the Hearts player's shirt with both ands earlier.

I can't see how anyone could claim the second goal was offside as we never saw it from an angle level with play. Good goal imo.

You could see the players were side by side. The angle automatically makes Giakoumakis' head look like it's further forward. It was more than likely onside. Hearts' was clearly offside. Neilson's very selective viewings of games is irritating. Quick to highlight every injustice to blame the ref, but ignores calls going his way.

It was a good finish by Giakoumakis. That was more of the finish of someone who was top scorer in Holland. He's been injured a lot, but needs to show more.
