I was thinking about the venues.. From 2026 WC finals will have 48 teams. 16 venues.

FIFA have stadium guideline requirements ... must have a capacity of at least 40,000, stadiums hosting quarter-finals must have a minimum of 60,000 and those hosting the opening ceremony or final must have a capacity of at least 80,000.

COVID fall-out permitting there is some planned expansion of various grounds, and no doubt more to come if the bid was successful.

So, with the usual sharing things round approach ... how about...

- Wembley (Final, SF, QF)
- Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
- Twickenham ...if three stadiums from one city allowed...
- Millennium Stadium (SF, QF)
- Molineux (if expanded)
- Anfield
- Old Trafford (QF)
- Etihad (if two stadiums from one city allowed)
- Elland Road (if expanded)
- St James' Park
- Stadium of Light
- Murrayfield
- Ibrox
- Celtic Park (if two stadiums from one city allowed)
- Croke Park (QF)
- Aviva Stadium

It gives Manchester and Glasgow a lot, but they are quite keen on football and have big venues.

Transport links to Twickenham are crap. For London, the 3 best/biggest grounds are Wembley, Tottenham and either Arsenal or West Ham.

I'm a Wolves fan myself, but I'd be taking out an extended Molineux for Villa Park?

Villa park is one to use too smile

I'd think that West Hams ground would be used instead of Twickenham imo.
