Fake Crowd Noise
Discussion
Is it supposed to help the players?
It's giving me a sodding headache. The mind sees an empty stadium yet there are crowd chants, oohs, aahs and clapping most of which is behind the play.
For once we have the perfect opportunity to hear what goes on on the pitch and its being drowned out by rent-a-crowd.

I switch to the other channel that does without it, although sometimes the picture quality falls apart.
Found it refreshing to hear the managers/coaches/players instead, and the embarrassing screams of Salah and the like when they go down having been shot by a tickle from someone’s boot lace.

The majority of goalscorers seem to have high-pitched screams instead of a normal voice. Found it refreshing to hear the managers/coaches/players instead, and the embarrassing screams of Salah and the like when they go down having been shot by a tickle from someone’s boot lace.

putting aside the thought that the sound is piped to the stadium, can't you turn off the fake noise using the red button. Maybe only some games on BT Sport but I'm sure you can. It's giving me a sodding headache. Agree it's annoying, although, oddly; I'm don't find it as bad on the radio (I listen to many more games than watch on TV).

Watching the Man United v Leeds game the other day I did think I've never heard so much crowd noise in Old Trafford.
I'm told that Arsenal were offered the chance to pipe crowd noise into the Emirates but they declined, saying they would rather have the usual noise levels instead. V8covin said:

I was watching a T20 cricket game a few weeks ago with no fans in and heard an almighty cheer from the supporters, almost blew my ears out. Looked up to see what had happened and nothing of note had, the ball had just been hit gently back to the bowler. Obviously, someone had pressed the button for "Six outside of the ground" instead.
Made me LOL to be fair.
