Being on the terraces at a freezing Maine Road in 1965 watching Manchester City get beat 2-1 by Swindon Town along with 8014 others. (Mike Summerbee scored for Swindon)

Watching Luton struggle to get out of the Conference, in particular the season we finished outside of the playoffs and were beaten by teams such as Alfreton (no disrespect intended, they deserved their victory!).

Being hit on the head by a yellow stripe pool ball at a Norwich city home game in the late 70's.

As a Chelsea fan, so many during the 70s and 80s. A 6-0 loss to Rotherham in Nov 81 is a stand out moment. Or getting relegated at White Hart Lane in 75.

But nothing will beat losing the 2008 CL final to Man U on pens. I hit the OFF button the second Anelka's pen was saved, and have never seen footage of Man U getting the trophy, nor have I ever re-watched any part of the game.

I was thinking more of actual matches. But football in general, Hillsborough without a doubt.

As a Derby fan, the entire 2007/8 season. The fact that our total of 11 points that season is a record which will probably never be broken is no consolation whatsoever.

As an England fan, the 1990 semi-final penalty shoot-out would be an obvious choice. The fact that I firmly believe we would have beaten Argentina comfortably in the final made the defeat worse. But that’s not my nomination.

The 0-0 draw vs Algeria in the 2010 World Cup is my actual lowest moment. The game was as unwatchably awful as football gets, and the England team were an absolute shambles in every possible way. They didn’t want to be there. They didn’t want to play for Capello. They treated their own fans who had spent thousands travelling to support them with undisguised contempt. They were a disgrace to their country, and a decade later I’m still angry about that game.

Hillsborough wasn’t a moment for me, even though I saw it live. It was a huge event And dragged on that day for what seemed like hours, but not defined as a moment. It seemed to be a fairly minor issue, Then something more significant, then a more major issue, then a Confused and bewildering issue, and then next day the extent was known. Perhaps because it went on for 30 odd years after.?

I remember walking out of our local cricket club Where we were watching the footie during the Heysel match which for some reason they played On with after the terrible events there, knowing that we would all be punished for that night.

From a game point of view, Everton 1-0 up against Liverpool in the cup final, and a goal bound strike hits Hanson’s hand, stops it going in the net. Knew we’d go onto lose and we did, 1-3.

I am a Coventry fan. No end of low moments over the years, and well used to it.

Aguero's disallowed goal against Spurs in the CL semi final. Also the two penalties we were cheated out of in the same game.

Would you feel better if it was Sterling's goal disallowed against Spurs in the CL quarter final?
