Ok I be first to admit it don't help my team Arsenal being bang average but these breaks for nondescript euro qualifiers seem to be sucking the life out of top tier football at the moment. We qualified for Euro 2020 friday, there was never any doubt we were even before a match in the group was played. By the time the Premiership starts again I'm losing interest.

I'm losing interest for many reasons, perceived Sky6 bias, VAR, the media being desperate for Liverpool to win the league, the loss of contact in the sport turning players into tumbling tossers. Many reasons for me losing interest.

Losing interest in premier league; it's a bit stale and boring.

I would agree with that but also add that due to VAR its also trying to become sterile which football for me has never been, and I loved with all the inconsistencies.

I hate VAR and my team aren't affected by it in league 2.

I have more current interest watching Italy Serie A highlights.

VAR is making things ridiculous.......even the MoTD team seem to be struggling to contain their disgust at how bad it is.
& yes, for me, VAR is making football significantly worse, & less appealing.....

Yep. Man City fan for nearly 40 years.

Fed up with the media Liverpool love in.

Don’t watch England games any more.

Been watching Div 1 & 2 football and been to many grounds and it’s far better than the Premiership. Better fans and just a better experience.

Liverpool being 8 points clear already doesn't help for excitement.

It also doesn't help that so many of the usual "top 4/6' are pretty st just now. The quality seems low at the moment.

Top tier football ?.

Most Premiership football clubs completely float on TV right money, up to 90%. All makebelief, Disneyworld loonesy.

It's why so many foreigners are trying to takeover insignificant lower tier English clubs.

Nobody in the world cares about Crystal Pace, Newcastle, Fullham, Southampton, Swansea, Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Bournemouth, Everton, Watford, or even Tottenham probably. But they do get 120m plus in TV right money annually.

The EPL is all about Liverpool, United, City, Arsenal and Chelsea. It's all about branding and noodle sponsorship obviously, go ask Ed Woodward.

Take all those foreigners out of the Premiership and it'll be pretty non describt as well. Back to the eighties again, long balls, kick and rush, Fat Sam and Roy Hodgson would probably dominate the leaque and David Moyes would've served his seven-year contract.

Take all the foreign owned clubs and invested money out of English football and….well.

You should just be glad the EPL attracts so much foreign interest otherwise those couple of top tier English footballers would never have played with these top tier foreign footballers.

You've lost me there, admittingly that don't take much.
I was just pointing out that I personally thought this current Premier League season has been a bit unentertaining, var is now making games start/stop, we keep having breaks for Euro qualifiers which are not that interesting as before the off it was a foregone conclusion that we would qualify and it looks like a one horse race for the title.
I guess Liverpool fans would disagree.

Care to show me the media love in?
Is it because you are both Man City fans that you see it that way?

I've lost a bit of excitement for the game. VAR Is making it sterile.
Too much stopping. It feels like the emotions are going out the game rather than having it high octane stuff for 90 mins.
- Liverpool fan.

It may be because they're a little over-represented when it comes to pundits.

Carragher
Redknapp
Phil Thompson
Souness
Danny Murphy
Michael Owen
Jim Beglin
Kelly Cates

Heck - even Neil Mellor gets a gig on Sky Sports.

Not everyone of them are biased though.
Carragher has basically been Skys puppet since the incident with the Range Rover.
Can't say I see Redknapps, Danny Murphys or Owens love in for us neither. Owen even speaks like he is a Man Utd fan at times too. Danny Murphy just drones on so I don't recall him being all starry eyed about us.
Neither Souness nor Kelly Cates. Souness is just cold and IMO speaks facts in a blunt way. Cates is quite a cheery presenter in my eyes and doesn't favour us neither.

I just think we get the 3 points and wether it is from brilliance or a stroke of luck, pundits mark it as excellence or grit and dtermination.
The same would have been said if it was Man City throughout the past few years, despite a lot of their wins they steamroll teams.

Fans of other clubs don't want Liverpool to win anything because the 'you haven't won the league in 30 years' is a stick they can hit us with.

Back on topic for me, fans will still go the game (to the top clubs anyway) and people from all around the world will watches matches too so I don't think this 'feeling of disconnection' will have a detrimental effect to football as we see it and not much will get changed.
VAR has had a massive change when we thought on the whole it would be a positive game changer. Its done the opposite for the love of the game.

But why are there so many when there are a plethora of former players that played for other clubs that would love a Sky Sports pundit gig?

I remember Mourinho making the point in an interview with Sky.

I've genuinely found the Championship better towards the end of last season and beginning of this. Some very good games on Sky on random nights when the Prem isn't on and some tasty derbies too (Bristol vs Cardiff the other day, Derby vs Forest etc).

Trouble is, even in the Championship Sky have favoritism. Leeds. Sky love Leeds and Liverpool. .
