I was thinking about this the other day. Which tune is the most commonly used for football chants? I’m guessing everyone has something to the tune of Go West, Sloop John B and “He’s magic, you know, you’ll never get past (ends in O)”.

Is there anything else as ubiquitous or is it probably one of these?

Not common, but remember 90 minutes of "were hull city, were hull city" once when they were the away team.

Dull as fk.

Maybe they couldn’t remember where they lived, and were actually saying, “Where’s Hull City?”
Or the home fans, watching crap opposition, were asking, “Where’s Hull City?”

Get your tits out for the lads was a universal favourite, probably now banned by the happiness police.

Who ate all the pies is probably still allowed, especially to Steve Evans

I quite liked it when Porto first sang it , it only got dull & repetitive when every other club started singing it . I can never understand why supporters sing nicked songs . Originality is the key .

“It’s the XXX boys, making all the noise”

For some reason that irritates the crap out of me!

“Akinfenwa, your tits are offside” was a source of childish amusement at Wycombe last season.

So it’s sounding to me with the answers so far we’re going with “Go West” being the most commonly chant tune?

Only Liverpool should be allowed to sing at all then.

Liverpool trying to claim they were the first now are they?

Been doing the rounds in European countries, especially Italy for years before Liverpool picked it up.

The intro to 'Seven Nation Army' by White Stripes. With Do Do Do type of accompanyment.

Jeff Beck's 'Hi Ho Siver Lining', sung as 'Hi Ho Sheffield Wednesday' (Other teams supporters adapt this as well).

Remember singing that one a lot, then when he went Fulham

"When your sat, in Row Z, and the ball hits your head that's Zamora!"

At least it's got 3 words. I remember 90 minutes, plus the half time break, of "Chelsea, Chelsea....Chelsea, Chelsea", away at Leicester in the early 80s. Was actually quite good fun.
