Just watching England v Spain and the world cup is coming up

England are ranked 3 in the world

I have been to see Chelsea women play several times as they play up the road from me and the games have been very entertaining

Anyone seen any womens games?

Will anyone watch the world cup?. Its on BBC

I've tried to be genuinely interested and watched games on telly in the past. However, its rubbish. Comically so.

I've watched a fair bit on tv and got quite in to the Euro's last time out. In the last 4 or 5 years I would suggest the standard has unbelievably ramped up.

I am very much looking forward to the World Cup, it does help we stand a chance of winning.

Can't wait for the Women's WC. Anyone playing football in a Chelsea or England shirt has my support.

We got to the semis last time and lost to Japan with a ridiculously fluky goal. Phil Neville seems to be doing a good job, we could actually win it this time.

I’d compare it more like a team winning the premier league and a team winning the division one west.
Whilst it may be a league it’s a completely different level and achievement.

Women’s football is gaining in popularity and like in men’s football, other countries will become interested, leagues will have foreigners join and the levels of quality will increase as time goes by.

Not at all. Women who love football want the men to be successful. Men should want the women to be successful. It's no different from cheering on Kelly Holmes or any other Team GB/English sportswoman in an international competition.

I'll be supporting the Lionesses 100%.

Why? They are up against people of similar ability. Why does this comparison only apply to football. When Virginia Wade won Wimbledon, I don't remember anyone dismissing her because she wasn't as good as the men. Do we look down on jess Ennis because she's slower than Mo Farrah?

If the Lionesses win the WC, it will be a fantastic achievement. No different from the men. They'll have competed against the worlds best women's national teams, and won.
