I'm in Madrid for work tomorrow. I know nothing about football but Just realised that the real Madrid stadium is about ten mins walk away from the hotel I'm at, and Google told me there's a match on in an hour.

Might be something worth seeing for the spectacle I'm thinking?

If I wander down there, what do you reckon I should pay a tout for a ticket?

Wow!

I think that’ll be awesome.

I’d pay €250 and I’m broke.

Anything less than that’s a steal.

A massive game, evening warmth, have some sangria and steak, see Ronaldo.

Flipping fantastic.

Report back!

jesus, that much? hmm wonder if its worth it as a non football fan. a lot to pay if it ends up being some fake ticket or something that doesnt work. will try and find if theres some genuine ticket market website or something that has trustworthy exchanges

I’m basing it on what you’d pay a tour to see a top premier league game.

Prices out there may be wildly different.

Even as a non football fan it’d be worth seeing. A wonderful atmosphere.

I don't think it'll be very expensive at all. Madrid v Bilbao is like Man U v Swansea. It's a meaningless game as Madrid are miles off winning La Liga. But the Bernabau is great and you should go. I'm guessing €50 tops.

im in madrid now for work that im doing starting tomorrow.

its a nice stadium, the home side being a goal down at the moment apparantly is pretty unexpected. but the hotel staff were saying that real madrid would "100%" win

60 a few mins after the match started. cheers guys, good experience, and presumably a simple empty stadium tour or sth would cost as much here

For anyone else in Madrid, worth going to see Rayo Vallecano if they are at home. A 3 sided ground, and all the fans eat what appears to be bird seed, sold in bags. Some kind of local tradition. Very odd.

Athletico is good too, watching Simeone going bonkers on the touchline.

Hope you enjoyed it ... we were in Barcelona the weekend of a home match two or three years ago and went to the ground on the match night but didn't go in as a) Messi wasn't playing and b) it was on in a local bar on the TV. Plus we all had our other halves who aren't really footy fans ...

Good atmosphere though. The training ground opposite the stadium is as big as some Championship teams' grounds ...
