How to get tickets - Bournemouth
Discussion
I've promised my football mad young son that I will try to get some tickets to take him to see a match.
I gave up following football years ago so I am completely out of touch. Trying to get tickets seems to be an impossible task.
Does anyone have any tips?
I've signed him up to the Junior Cherries club and enter all competitions and draws that are sent to us.
Are tickets in the family stand essential? The last match I saw was >15 years ago and the behaviour of some of the fans was pretty poor*. Have they improved or am I right to only go for family stand tickets? He's a quiet 6 year old so I don't want to scare him off.

Bournemouth or Southampton ?....
Both being Premier league ,neither will be playing against Leeds or Portsmouth except for cup matches currently, being
Championship and Lg1 respectively.
Although relegation and promotions are currently nearing the sharp end.
Sorry. As per title, tickets are needed for Bournemouth. Both being Premier league ,neither will be playing against Leeds or Portsmouth except for cup matches currently, being

As an example, I used to watch southampton play probably 15-20 years ago when Leeds and Portsmouth were in the same league if my hazy memory serves me well. Leeds threw loads of coins at us saints fan and pompey/saints fan scrapped in the train station! Memories, memories.
Football is a bit better behaved these days, even matches between "grudge" teams. Not saying there isn't still the odd problem but it is very much the exception not the norm.
As for getting tickets, make sure he's a member, make sure you're a member and keep an eye out on social media and the clubs own ticket exchange channels (if they have them).
With the Premier League it's very much the case that demand outstrips supply so its not easy getting tickets if you are not a member, don't have lots of loyalty points etc. You might try looking at lower league games or even non league if just has to be football rather than specifically Bournemouth.

Yeah. I realise that supply/demand etc its just a little frustrating as I would love to take him along to see Bournemouth. Fingers crossed something will turn up.As for getting tickets, make sure he's a member, make sure you're a member and keep an eye out on social media and the clubs own ticket exchange channels (if they have them).

Simple.
Just go to at least 6 games when we were in the Championship 4 seasons ago, then 15+ games in each of the premier league seasons since, and you should be in with a decent chance of getting tickets.
Alternatively, wait another three years for the new stadium.
Best chance is the Junior Cherries ballot, or asking around in the hope that someone with tickets can't go and is willing to take the chance to pass them on.
Or if you don't mind an away game, about half of those go to a general sale.
Sorry to sound like Mr Gloom, but that's the downside of a small ground and high demand.
