All Star XI match

Football news is obviously hard to come by at the moment, except for the endless Kane to Real Madrid stories, so the latest idea is an All Star match where northern based players take on southern based players.

Seems like a daft idea to me, but I’m sure others will differ.

The thing that stands out to me is that the top 3 teams in the PL are NW based, the next three London based, so not difficult to see where the players would be drawn from. Arguably it may as well just be Manchester City (champions elect) vs whoever finishes highest out of the London teams. Hardly something that’s going to inspire fans outside those small geographic catchment areas.

Agree, Man City with De Gea in goal v Chelsea Hotspurs. Pointless.

Quite happy with Ederson in goal thanks.
He’s much better with his feet and that’s how we play. De gea would weaken our team despite his obvious ability.

They all complain about playing too many games, and now someone wants to introduce another one. Meaningless and pointless I'd say.
