Right, opening myself up for ridicule but here goes anyway.
I'm a lardy, a big lardy. So much so that I'm struggling to get clothes that fit me, even in that paragon of fashion, Asda George.
So I've decided to do something at last. Except that I lost six stone in ten months in 2012/13 then put it back on within two years.
I have a plan. Starting on May 1st 2018, I am going to attempt to lose seven stone in a year - I feel fairly confident I can do it by a combination of healthy eating and a gym membership. Local gym to me will charge me £22 a month including swimming and I'll probably tend to stick to treadmill, bikes and cross trainers. The trainer there is a friend who was a pro footballer once, so he's good for banter.
I'm also secretary of a Step 5 football club (that's four levels below the Vanarama National!). The manager has promised me he'll put me on as a sub in the final game of next season if I lose the weight, provided they don't need a win to stay up. Might get 5 minutes, might get 20, but either way, it will be an incentive to lose it all. I'm 50 in May by the way so this is quite something!
So I need a name for my blog/website. Right now, the best I have is "From fatty to footie" but welcome to other suggestions.
TIA.

Sky Sports News have just done an article on Man vs Fat, which is about rather large gents, playing football and shedding the pounds. They also mentioned that they’re in Yeovil, which is your neck of the woods.
Are you part of that?
Hi Gavia,Are you part of that?
Thanks for the info. I don't live in Yeovil anymore, I'm near Bristol but we have MVF leagues up here, with the nearest being a 15-minute drive away. I'm considering joining the league once I start the challenge, and step up my football nearer the end of the year so that I don't look a complete idiot on the pitch. It's a great incentive and one I think will help me too....
To everyone for their suggestions, thanks a lot. I'll give them some thought and see if any of them touch a creative nerve.
Timmo - thanks for the suggestions. I don't drink alcohol but sugar has way too much influence in my life so there's a saving to be made there. I'll get that book for sure, sounds like it will be worth the money.
