My 10 yo is after some new boots for Christmas and I'm not sure which to get him.

Choice is between Artificial Grass (blue and yellow) or Firm Ground (white and yellow)

He plays mostly on grass pitches but trains weekly on a 3G pitch. I'm leaning towards the Firm Ground boots but am looking for advice

My lad uses the firm ground (blades) most of the year (mix of grass and 3G), he does end up on his bum on muddy pitches though.

Enjoy the cheap kids boots for another couple of years, once they get to size 6 it suddenly gets very expensive.

Blades are not recommended for 3G. I'd go for firm ground plastic studs.

The only colour that should be allowed. White stripes allowed of course. Puma King myself (well was, still got them, not got the knees!)

Firm ground (moulded) boots are far more versatile, I train on 3G and play on grass, I use Adidas Copa Mundials 90% of the time with Adidas World Cups used when pitches get boggy around now until around the end of February.

Haha! I wear Copa Mondial's, bought a replacement pair this season. Best boots ever made. He does want a pair but not for a couple of years. Sock boots (I know, pointless!) are the thing this time
