In our team, the way we play, Mane is our most important player. IMO more important than Coutinho.
Improve his contract and put £150 million buy out clause asap.
150m that it? they just put a 700m one on Isco Improve his contract and put £150 million buy out clause asap.
But I agree, its frightening how good he is, there is no better wide goal scoring forward in the prem

Yeah don't see the point in these clauses. They made sense when nobody could afford them, but everyone's loaded now. At least with no clause you can simply say fk off.
Yes but with a clause you stop all this VVD and Phil scenario - if it was not a world cup year we would have sold Phil I think - we know he needs to play so keep him - with a clause you simply say look there clause is 300m if you want it pay it, if his agents accepts that they then know at it will take to get him to move.... Why put any release clauses in?
Spain have to have them in their contract but why put one in and risk a neymar situation
It stops the silliness that we currently have with Coutinho. 114 million is really 80 million which is really 15 million a year.Spain have to have them in their contract but why put one in and risk a neymar situation
Not having a go at you, i just think it is really really bad idea..

No buy out, and you get in to the protracted, drawn out, PITA situation we have with Coutinho. Stick a big enough buy out and you just hide behind it.
Problem wasn't that Neymar had a buy out. Problem was it wasn't big enough.
Only the few clubs with dodgy financial backing have the wherewithal to shell out that sort of cash.

It's a very fine line, too low and it gets activated a la Neymar, too high and it is irrelevant a la Ronaldo and the speculation continues. IF you get it right, you still give yourself the problem of a rival buying your star player the day the window closes and you have no say in it whatsoever.
If Mane had a £200m buy out clause and city pay it on August 31st, then what do we do with the £200m?

That's not really the case though (my bold) Ronaldo has the highest Buy out in the world, 1 Bn Euros yet there has still been talk the last 2 years of him going to man u.

You would be mad to put a 200m buy out clause on him, it needs to be a silly amount, 200m these days is not silly - It's a very fine line, too low and it gets activated a la Neymar, too high and it is irrelevant a la Ronaldo and the speculation continues. €700M is a proper deterrent. But if you really see a player as a long term part of your team, and you don't want the hassle of the Arabs, that's the way to do it.http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10983...

That's not the point i was making. Lets say we put it at a silly amount, say 1 bn Euros. City bid 200m we refuse, at 900m we would almost certainly accept. you then get exactly the same hassle we have now of deciding the price and it is not all in one lump. City will use all the tactics Barcelona are currently using and it still turns out into a long drawn out process.
I imagine that is in the clause too as it was with Neymars - they had to pay it in 1 so they did Old Man Fred said:

No way man U could spend €1bn. They already have >£500M of debt. Just agents playing, and clubs posturing.

£200M is still silly... Neymar is one of the best players in the World, and highly marketable on a Global level. Mane, as good as he is, is not on the same level value wise. There would need to be another massive jump in club revenues to make £200M a regular transfer fee for a top player.

Is that not the whole point of them, you wouldn't put one on Mane for 90m it would be paid tmrw There would need to be another massive jump in club revenues to make £200M a regular transfer fee for a top player.
