I heard on the radio than Manchester United have been given a 9500 ticket allocation for their forth coming cup final.

Regardless of who makes the final, it always feels very unfair to me that the 2 finalists get such poor ticket allocations. I can understand that a few corporate tickets need to be sold, but 9500 tickets seems very poor to me. The bulk of the crowd in the finals should be the supports of the 2 teams, with maybe 5-10% of the tickets going to the corporates. I'm not a huge football fan, but understand the people follow clubs through thick and thin and all over the country and in the case, Europe, then their team gets to the final and they're very unlikely to get a ticket.

...very unlikely to get a ticket... by paying face value.

Sure there will be 5-10% corporates in attendance but the majority of the tickets will be sold on thus ensuring that the genuine fans being the ones prepared to pay silly money do get tickets. Unfortunately it is now the way of the world.

The strange thing is that last season when Liverpool played the final in Basel, with 35.000 a much smaller stadium than the 50.000 in Stockholm, the two teams got more tickets than this season.
