I have been lucky enough to get 2 tickets to the final in Cardiff.

I applied through the ballot for the 'youth package' (1 adult, 1 youth ticket for £120) and got them. Arrived today.

But people have said to me that they go for significant sums on 3rd party sites. I realise selling them on would be illegal, and to be honest, I really want to take my son.

But, just assuming I could get over £2k for them, it would make me think. But being able to sayi i went to a final would be a great memory and story. Selling them so that the wife can buy more crap we dont need would be a very bad story!

Not really sure what im asking here to be honest, but what would your 'breaking point' be? Where would you even sell them?

If my team was in the final, no question I'd be going. A Spanish vs Italian? I'd rather have 2 weeks at Disney Florida with the family, much better memories!

Take your son to the match.

If tickets are difficult to obtain ,you might not get another chance to go.smile

ETA....I wouldn't care who's playing ,seeing Real or Juve would be great.

Back in the day (early 2000s) I was once one of those guys, and I really, really regret it.

I was lucky enough to secure 4 tickets to Glastonbury (fully intending to go) and the next day all my colleagues were telling me how it had sold out and they were going for an absolute bomb on eBay. I think I had paid about 90 quid each but they were fetching upwards of 300 a ticket. So I thought you know what, the money would make a lot of difference to me so I listed and sold them for around 1200, making about 800 profit.

I didn't realise back then what a I was being or, how, later in life, I would regret not ticking Glasto off my list.

My advice is to go, enjoy the game, and create some lifelong memories.

I applied for 2x adult but didn't get them, previously got supercup final tickets which worked out well because one of my teams was in the final (Real Madrid)

I will be in Rome for the Italian Coppa Italia instead of CL final this year.

if its anything like the supercup final they checked ID against ticket.

Also I'd rather give the ticket up to a fan of the team, if I could make a few quid along the way then brilliant!

I paid £1500 for 2 ECL tickets for the 2006 final (from a Swiss Inter Milan fan who'd come up in the UEFA ballot). I sold one of them on for £850 (there were very few singles going on e-bay). No i/d checks then, just process people into the stadium as fast as poss. Imagine there'll be significant shakedown on entry in Cardiff but proof of identity is still hardly ever enforced anywhere. I'd pay the same again to see Arsenal in an ECL final but any other 'over the odds' ticketing, not at all.

Moral dilemma. If I had them and its was not Everton in the final offered 2K I would sell them

I went to Real Madrid v Bayer Leverkusen in 2002 at Hampden park with my brother, at the time i was offered a £1,000 each for the 2 tickets. I wouldn't have given them up and so glad i didnt. I got to see Zidane score this goal (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QryFUtRtUiM)and watch a great game and it was all round fantastic experience. Raul oleing the Real fans in celebrations after, with a bullfighthers cape was brillant. Take your son, an experience not to be forgotten.

I think there is definitely a perception of money (as always on this site) with some people valuing a ticket higher than others based on how much they earn. £2k is a good part of a months money to me where as many on this site earn that a week and would rather watch the match, they can afford to take their kids on holiday regardless.
