Any Football Coaches on PH?
Discussion
I think there is a few of us !! There were some posts in this section under the heading of Grassroots ...
Personally being running current U14s side for last 4 years with a couple of years coaching before that. Just completed my 'new style' level 2 which is now made up of three modules. The first two modules are effectively the old FA Youth Modules 1 & 2. Next up is the FA Youth module 3 !!
On the whole, very rewarding .... its just the politics/parents that gets you down, but the positives outweigh the negatives and is a good 'release' from everyday work. I plan to take my squad through to U16s and then review. Wouldn't mind starting at the bottom again (u6/7) without my own son in the side.

U11 coach here. Very rewarding, and as the other poster says a great distraction from the day to day...
...expect things to go not so to plan along the way, but keep a common sense approach and consider before everything else the kids, making sure you are as fair as possible to them.
I'm level 1, have been for 4 years. I make use of the material provided by the FA Licenced Coaches club amongst other things. There's loads of free material available to help coaches deliver suitable age relevant sessions.
Long term is to improve my qualifications and to ensure that I provide the kids with an environment where they can have fun and express themselves. A few win's maybe even some trophies along the way would be great.
