Why are Football fans such utter b**l ends?

Ok, I know that the vast majority are well behaved, but yet again England's name is being dragged through the mud with "fans" (& I use the term loosely) fighting with the French, the Russians & the authorities....

It's still a big problem in this country as well. I love playing & watching football, I also love playing & watching rugby. Sorry to bang the Rugby drum again, but you just don't get these problems at rugby matches, how do the football federations get the message across that it just isn't acceptable to behave like this?

Welsh fans were fantastic and as for the English fans apart from a small minority being very boisterous and a few chants that upset some I think they have been the victims here.
What do you do when you get bottled by the ultras then tear gassed by the police then stabbed by the Russians.

Unfortunately England's past reputation doesn't help.

I was going to add does the OP realise these people travel for the fight, not the game....total morons but certainly not fans.

There are a few threads on this topic already in the News Forum and The Lounge. We don't need another one here where we DO want to talk about the football itself and not extraneous issues.
