It didn't happen. It's a big conspiracy.

A terrible tragedy indeed.

But a question if I may, if every anniversary of ever bad thing that happens is remembered in the news surely in 10, 20, 50 years time there will be no room in the news for any news to be reported?

Most big events tend to be "remembered" in multiples of 5 or 10 years. The media doesn't tend to mention the anniversary every year - with the odd exception.

Why doesn't the media mark the Ibrox disaster every year, or Bradford?

No mention, either, of the 582nd anniversary of Joan of Arc being burned at the stake.

Just to controversial, there seems to be no end to the amount of times the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster gets a mention though.

I'll just get my flame proofs on...

I think it's pretty obvious why it's not mentioned.

I think the point is that certain disastrous events at football matches get airtime and publicity, minute silences etc and others don't.

Which seems to kinda depend on whether the victims were UK citizens or not regardless of who was to blame.

Apart from it being in the UK, maybe Hillsborough gets brought up each year because the families of the 96 have made it their mission to keep it fresh in people's minds until justice is rightly done. Heysel was no less of a disaster, but at least some of those responsible were brought to account and that included the secretary-general of the Belgian Football Union and a senior policeman, as well as the Liverpool "fans". No consolation or true closure for the families of the Heysel dead I'm sure but at least there wasn't a complete cover-up with no prosecutions.
