He's overrated IMO, this is going to be the big test for him, if he flops then he will become a forgotten man.

I liked this deluded comment:

Listen im a regular geezer, just like yourselves, so im not in touch with 30 million pound deals, but this is a bad choice for neymar. He wont get any game time with with the catalans and it wont help his chances of breaking into the argentinian team. It would have been in his best interests to join a team like liverpool, where his history will play a big role in his development. Also the type of football rodgers play would have suited him much better as they like keep it on the floor as opposed to barca, he'll regret this decision. #YWNA

Sounds just like the sort of sentiment you'd read on the Liverpool thread.

I don't think which club he plays for would have any effect on his chances of breaking into the Argentinian team, given that he is Brazilian!

Barcelona has already paid out 10m euros a few years ago to ensure he signed for them, so not much chance of him going anywhere else.

He just comes across as a show pony to me. It'll be intresting to see how good he is now he's surrounded by world class players.

Have to agree about how over rated he is. There's better Brazilians at the same age as him proving themselves in Europe already. Look at Oscar for Chelsea and Lucas at PSG, both of them picking up major honours this year and playing a lot in big wealthy teams.

Neymar will get battered by European defences. I know the Brazil league is a rough and tough one, but the quality isn't as good.

I'm sure he'll play against England in the friendly, so Glen Johnson will probably end up showing him up hehe

I disagree. If that's OK with you lot.

Neymar has been one of the world's best young players for 2 or 3 years now. He beat Scotland on his own 2 years ago. I am disappointed that none of the big PL teams made a concerted effort to buy him at some point. I am sure he will come back to haunt the chairman of at least one PL team next season in the CL. We just don't attract the young superstars.

Don't think I agree with that fully, Hazard and Oscar are pretty big names.

So Scotland...big whoop.

Naymar has one of those dodgy ownership deals going on that is banned in the Prem so no point in even going near him.

I read an article a few months ago, I think it was by Sid Lowe at the Guardian, about how Nike were financing a major part of the deal.

According to the commentators over the confed cup Neymar owns a 3rd of himself.

Not a bad deal. If he has 4 good years at Barca and then leaves for silly money at 25 he'd earn a few quid.

How does that work? He gets a 1/3 of every transfer fee?
