Well it's Blackpool and we don't do official......

So tom ince will probably leave in the transfer window, but I hope he'll stay until the end of the season atleast, if we don't make it into the play off places this year the momentum will probably be lost, hoping for Blackpool vs palace in the play offs

Main question now is who will go in the transfer window and who the can bring in.

I would like to think that Ince will see the season out. Does seem to be level headed and hopefully his dad has named some of the young players he will have seen in his career move on to bigger clubs, but never achieved anything or played any number of games. Have to remember he has only been a regular in our 1st team for 13months.

Not really bothered what amount we sell him for, as we know that the money will not be reinvested.

Other worries would be M Phillips and Baptiste who are both out of contract at the end of the season I think.

We need to try and get rid of some of the players that Holloway brought in for his development squad idea. 40+ pros is way to many.

I'm happy with what Appleton has done so far. Still playing passing football, although a bit more direct at times.

Well once hasn't gone yet, but still could.

Really need to get the managerial situation sorted out, it's starting to drag on too long with a temporary appointment.

For holloway to leave for palace and Appleton to leave so soon after taking charge you have to wonder what is going on behind the scenes at the club for this to happen.

Well Oysten only has to keep his phone off for another 12 days and he will have gone past another transfer window.

As you say, we need to get this manager position sorted by either putting Thommo in charge full time, or getting somebody in. we have to many good players out of contract in the summer. We need to be able to show them who will be in charge next season to hopefully get them to re-sign.

HAve you read this

Nothing new to us but will hopefully show to other people how we are really run.

Looks likely that this is the plan

I haven't got a problem with owners of football clubs taking money from the business, in fact it should be seen as a good thing at a properly run business, until it becomes detrimental as it has at Blackpool. Becoming a yoyo team had the potential for the owners and the club to take the financial gains.

Oyston snr has always had a bit of a wide boy image, nothing really surprises me with his monetary dealings.

Incoming Increase in Tv money and the other financial gains of the premier league should have made promotion a higher priority than it appears to have been for the board IMHO

To be positive for a moment... That's pretty much what everyone said when IH was appointed. Let's hope the outcome is largely the same! It's a make or break appointment for club and for Ince though.

Suppose one good thing is that he has seen near enough every game (home and away) we've played in the last 18mnths since his son signed for us, so is familiar with a lot of the players.

He's probably familiar with most aspects of the club, so nothing should come as a shock to him.

Hopefully having the time out (2 years?) since his last managers job may do something like the time out did for Ollie.

Oh i don't know. I think the pitch and the training ground would come as a shock now matter how many times you see them!

Still, onwards and upwards.

Holloway did very well for us and so did Grayson before him, Appleton is showing promise with rovers. Unfortunately getting a manager who brings success on our budget/size/desirability to manage etc is a trick that can only be realistically be pulled off so many times.

I'm not against inces appointment, I hope he can do well for us.
I'm wondering though if Carl oyston was waiting for the transfer window to shut before appointing a manager to avoid buying or if ince was overlooked or well down a list of potential managers.

I had expected to have to come on here Saturday evening and ask for the title to be changed to 'The unOfficial Blackpool relegation thread'. But a surprise win against high flying Watford was a much needed win with the way teams at the bottom are winning games.

Big game this Saturday against relegation threatened Peterborough. Unfortunately it is at home, so will have to put up with pretty direct football due to the state of the pitch.

I suppose I must through clenched teeth congratulate Karl Oyston on the season ticket offer for next year to mark the 60th anniversary of our 1953 FA Cup win. Adult tickets (renewal and new applicants) bought before 3pm 2nd May (60th anniversary of the kick-off of the game) will cost £195.30. That works out at £8.50 per game of (hopefully Championship) football.

Not sure what the team next year will look like as I think there are only 3 or 4 players under contract although a few have year options that the club could activate.

The ST reduction is certainly welcome and will change the minds of a lot of fans who were considering cancelling I should think.

OT Russ but I see you're a TVR man involved in the Bpool TVRCC? I'm going to get myself a Chimaera very soon but I've not spent enough time getting to know them enou to be able to confidently pick one. Are there any meets lined up or ppl that could might be willing to help me? I'll join the TVRCC in any case.

On the one hand it seems a shame to end the season now we appear to have found some good form. On the other hand, thank Christ that's over with. Let's hope we don't have the reverse problem next season, nice grass but patchy squad.

So another season over and one that started so well with 3 wins that put us top of the league and playing like world beaters. Then the wheels fell of with only 2 wins in the next 10 and Holloway departed.

So 4 managers in a season.
Holloway - 13games - 5 wins, 3 draws and 5 loses - 18pts
Thompson (caretaker * 2) - 8 games - 3 wins, 5 loses - 9pts
Appleton - 11games - 2 wins, 7 draws, 2 loses - 13pts
Ince - 14games - 4 wins, 7 draws, 3 loses - 19pts

So now to see what happens over the summer. They will hopefully be starting on the pitch ASAP, and hopefully be doing more than spreading a £10 bag of grass seed from the local garden centre.

Who stays and who goes is the big question, as it stands we only have 2 players definitely under contract. We will definitely activate the extensions on Tom Ince and Matt Phillips as they are our 2 most valuable assets.

Out of contract
Alex Baptiste
Tom Barkhuizen (Under 24)
Kirk Broadfoot
Adam Dodd (U24)
Neal Eardley
Ashley Eastham
Elliot Grandin
Mark Halstead (U24) - GK (second choice)
Chris Kettings (U24) - GK
Kevin Phillips
Ludovic Sylvestre
Gary Taylor-Fletcher
Liam Tomsett

out of contract but with a 12-month option the club could activate
Alex Addai
Louis Almond
Banvo Anderson
Chris Basham
Paul Bignot
Gerardo Bruna
Jake Caprice
Craig Cathcart
Matt Challoner
Stephen Crainey
Adda Djeziri
Nathan Eccleston
Ian Evatt
Barry Ferguson
Matt Gilks - GK
Tiago Gomes
Bob Harris
Tom Ince
Angel Martinez
Jamie Menagh (youth player who has left this week to join Stoke)
Isaiah Osbourne
Matt Phillips
Craig Sutherland
Curtis Thompson

Under contract for next season
James Caton
Alberto Noguera

Been very impressed with Gary MacKenzie who Ince brought in on loan from MK Dons, so hopefully we will try to buy him.

The season ticket promotion price of £195.30 seems to have worked in that we have sold just short of 10k, which is only just short of what we sold in total last year. No idea how many of those are new people.

So as expected we lost some of the players that have served us well over the last few season (GTF, Baptiste, Eardley, Crainey, Sylvestre and Evatt) over the closed season.

Happy with the signings we have made so far, Gary Mackenzie, Michael Chopra, Steven Davies, Bobby Grant and Jack Robinson on loan from Liverpool. We still need a proven right back.

Apparently not the best performance at Doncaster but a wins a win.

So tonight the small matter of a League Cup game away at some team at the other end of the M55.

Shame that Steve Thompson has also gone, served the club well over the years as coach/assistant & caretaker manager. No one ever had a bad thing to say about him.

I agree it is a shame for Thommo. Onwards and upwards though hopefully. The squad might be depleted but there's a decent group there, hopefully the rot hasn't set too deep and a bit of attacking flair and some discipline can be reinstated by Ferguson / a new manager.

Wonder if/how Tom will play this weekend? hehe

I was wondering what the view among the Blackpool fans was concerning Ince senior. Getting a flavour now... laugh

Can't stand the bloke myself. How long before he plays the race card (again) as the reason for his demise. rolleyes

Two words before you do, Paul. Clarence Seedorf.

Anyway, chaps good luck in the future. Hope you find someone better soon. Onwards and upwards.

The recent going on's at BFC are pure farce
lack of players a new manager who doesn't give interviews and is being linked to a foreign club
A lot of people think it's the worst position the club has been in for a very long time.
