Why do they play 'Vindaloo' in the wrong key?

Have you ever been in the end where the band are?

If you have you will know that the atmosphere there is far better than it appears on TV. You wouldn't sit next to the trombone player because the row infront of the band (who are on the last row, row 44) is empty.

But the row does fill up as people move upto be where the band are.

Granted they only play 4 or 5 different tunes but that's not what it's about.

Don't know a lot about brass bands, but I guess there's a limit to what key brass instruments can be played in given their construction!

I'm glad its nots just me, what happened to the good old days when we had vocal renditions of 'Three Lions' or 'World in Motion'...

I much prefer the comedy stylings of the Barmy Army (Hey Hey Ricky was a bit st though)
