Scored a cracker. Disallowed goal. Fantasic assist.

Man of the match, surely.
Apparently so.

Only saw his assist and that was a good one.
Didn’t see the 1st half, but he’s been brilliant in the 2nd half tonight.

So pleased for Trent getting the winning penalty last night, looked good when he came on as well.

Gakpo has potentially been player of the tournament so far.

We’ve now got Trent v Virgil/Gakpo in the Euro SF and Darwin V Diaz in the CA SF.

Also, I see Thiago has announced he’s retiring after we released him. A real shame but can’t say I’m surprised.

Don't forget Gomez! How he's not playing ahead of Trippier I'll never know

That Brazil team has to be the worst in my lifetime.

Alisson is there best player these days.

Shame about Thiago but injuries consumed his game. Too young at 33.

Excellent interview just now with Slot and Vinny O'Connor on Skysports. Talks about player contracts, succeeding Klopp, signings & the data team but first working with the players he has.

One thing that strikes me most about Slot is that he is very conscious of the expectations of fans, the challenge of following Klopp, of what fans expect on the type of football and also the need to improve. Might just be words but it is kind of thing you want to hear when any new person comes in and needs to provides some assurance.

We've rejected a £4m bid for Nat Phillips from Trabzonspor. Looks like he'll be on his way (finally).

We've received just short of £5m from sales, of players we don't even own.

https://www.thisisanfield.com/2024/07/liverpool-ju...

Apparently on the books to sell are:

Kelleher @ £35m (valuation)
Phillips @ £8m
Morton @ £20m
vd Berg @ £20m
Tsimikas @ £15-20m ?

Kelleher wouldn't be bad value for someone at £30m.

Proven PL level keeper with loads of time left.

Hope he stays personally but not surprised if he wants to be No1 somewhere.

Those are TIA's suppositions, not facts - they also say none of those values are guaranteed (ie they made them up). And you missed out that Slot apparently wants to give van den berg a chance before letting him leave (despite VDB saying he wanted to leave, last season).

He won't hang around for ever playing second fiddle.
Alison is only 32 so has plenty of years in him, but it would be a bit crap to sell Kelleher then lose AB on a free when his time comes.

So Mbappe has been comprehensively outshone by Gakpo...

Expect a big season from him with Slot playing him in his preferred position.

Adam.

Yes, clearly - but I don't think they'd be far wrong with those selections. Most are fringe/youth and we probably need to sell to buy anyone in the market (and perhaps stay within PSR?) plus given that we missed out on CL last season. My personal feeling is that we probably won't buy much this summer - perhaps focus on 1 key position.
