A defender? Solid business there, can never have too many good defenders! Well, that's hoping/assuming he is in fact good.
Apparently the left sided Ben White, which can only be a good thing.
Doubts over his injury record but has had a great season at Bologna and was one of the better players for Italy at the Euro's.
Definitely one of Italy's better performers. I understand having a solid squad with quality replacements but I’m not sure, if he is signed he’d be prepared to be a bench warmer especially considered the fee. Our back four as I see it (Timber, Gabriel, Saliba and White) are quality so with all fit I’m struggling where he fits. Perhaps someone is on the move away from the club?

Zinchenko will be out, costs us so many times , so Calafiori will play on the left of defence.
We will basically go with 4 centre backs with 2 that are comfortable playing as RB/LB that can overlap or come into midfield to make numbers up with ball carrying skills.

Timber will most likely rotate with White on the right and knowing how ruthless Arteta is, it may be the best man wins again.

I'm guessing Zinchenko and Kiwior are sold which will leave us with the new guy, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, White and Tomi so 3 guys who can play anywhere in the back line when required with no massive drop off and the main pairing of Gabs/Willy.

I don't mind keeping Partey as when he is fit and on form, he's one of the best in Europe with Rice carrying on his form.
I'm not sure of any other mid in football with Partey's skillset.
I kind of wish we still had Xhaka as those 3 are a very strong midfield.

We still need backup for Saka, if that is Nico Williams it would be great and although Kai has done well especially his off the ball work for our system, we still need someone that will score 20+ a season.
There's a real dearth of world class strikers around so not sure who we could get to upgrade him.

If we can continue our upward trajectory from the past 2 seasons, we should be in a very good position and hopefully finally go one better next season.

Riccardo Calafiori played CB for Bologna (left-footed) last season, started career as left back- so could compliment Saliba (right-footed) in CB, as Gabriel is also left-footed so could provide cover for him. Timber is right footed and was right central / rightback at Ajax, so can cover White at RB and/or replace Tomi/ Zin at leftback.

We have 38 league matches and a minimum of 8 Chumps league (new format), plus at least 1 FA and 1 Careless Cup so think there is plenty need for flexible cover/ rotation to avoid the tired slumps we had last season.

Alternatively the rumbling (again) re Kiwior to Juve, or Saliba to Madrid for mucho cash (£117m) plus Tierney out longterm hamstring...so offload in Jan), Timber manged 50 EPL minutes and Tomi no doubt picking up an injury whilst lifting a suitcase on international duty... we need a constant stream of LB cover options I don't think Calafiornication as being a definite 1 in 1 out problem.

We are also linked with 19yo leftback / left winger Patrick Dorgu "who is ready to join Arsenal alongside Calafiori"

Aaargh just get on with the new season already!!!!

Getting a replacement for Rambo before letting him go, and who's happy to sit on the bench and take the money.

Hein just signed a contract extension as we convinced him to stay, and we have new Academy gk signing too... does he the Wolves GK also play left back?

Serie A club Lazio have agreed a deal to sign Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares on loan, with an obligation to buy him for £5.9 million included in the deal, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla. Still need to agree personal terms with his blood sucker.

Bologna after Kiwior, seperate deal to Californication

Marseille in for Nketamine

Wolves say no to Bentley offer of allegedly... ahem... £50k yes £50,000...

...and we're linked with Real Madrid keeper and every Spaniard and every other on form player at the Euros scratchchin and warming up every other old rumour such Onananuts

In other news Arsenal cancelled 20,000 memberships to knock off touts...just walk to Arsenal tube and I'm sure they'll still be there in August...

I saw that, and no doubt the offer will be a stick to beat Arsenal with, but it's what Wolves paid for him, and now he only has a year left on his contract...

https://www.arsenal.com/news/sambi-lokonga-joins-s...

Sambi Lokonga has joined La Liga side Sevilla on a season-long loan.

I thought he did quite well at Luton, but he's obviously not in Artetas plans as you don't usually go on loan (again) at 24. Oh well presume offsets some of the wages cost for the made up financial fair play when it suits compliance.

ETA another article has: Lokonga is reportedly joining Sevilla with a €12m (£10.1m) option to buy, and the Spanish side will cover his full salary for the 2024/25 campaign.

EETA Arsenal will then have a sell-on clause worth 25 per cent.

Need to move fast in the transfer window now, used to be a standard of ours buying players right at the end. Should be bought and ready to start pre-season.

No idea why we can only get rid of lalonga and Tavares on loan though.

Rejected a bid from Fulham for smith Rowe. I don’t think he should be sold. He needs a good season of game time this year

ESR has had bids from Palace and Fulham
Reiss early nibble from West Ham
Nketamine bid rumours have gone quiet

Don't think we can sell all three given home grown quotas etc

Oh and another Keeper confirmed progress from academy...

Carlfiora deal has stuck as Basel who get 50% sell on fee want more...

Nketamine, Marseille have woken up and still interested

Reiss agrees to go to West Ham (apparently) for around £20m

In process for yet another keeper...Tommy Setford The 18-year-old goalkeeper, who has played in England’s youth ranks, is set to become Mikel Arteta’s new third choice option and will sign a four-year deal.Arsenal have agreed a fee with Dutch club Ajax worth around €1 million (£869,000) and he will now complete a medical, according to fresh reports.

We will now listen to loan offer for Ramsdale apparently (Raya #1 Hein #2 and Setford #3)

We've stumped up the £87m asking price for Coventry player--- some Viktor Gyokeres geezer

Tomi already injured knee in training rolleyes

Nketamine agrees personal terms with Marseille, "just" the matter of £50m price tag to finalise...given our sales skillz loan incoming...

Jesus has comeback "super fit" apparently (smells like spin) so striker purchase is less likely...

Merino links rumble on and Califiornication will happen in the next few hours (again)

Just read that Tomi was injured yet again. Hope it’s nothing too serious but does it really matter as he’d only be injured a couple of weeks/months later frown
