Anyone see Moyes comments halftime in the Scotland Swiss game?

The Scots clearly needed a win and the momentum was on their side...when asked what he would do in short Moyes said 'keep it tight at the back, work hard, try nick something in the 80th minute' - Scotland instead went out there played on the front foot, pressed the Swiss and hit the post and should have won the game they were the better team.

Sums up Moyes perfectly really and the issues we had to deal with.

Business as usual for me as I've been S'gate OUT since the hash he made of the final vs Italy.

Everyone now having to sit through the dross we were told to shut up & enjoy's entertaining though.

Didn't see much of the game as I was @ T20 cricket (Essex won) - how was Bowen when he came on?

Bowen came on along with two others, immediately the whole team had some zip and energy about it.
Kane Saka went off who literally had spent most of the game just walking about. The lack of desire in the team is shocking.
Bowen didnt make too many shakes but got stuck in and was better able to pick up the ball in close quarters much better than Saka was doing.

Cheers.

Hopefully he'll start in place of Saka the next game - which annoyingly I'm actually going to watch.

I think Bowen contributes so much more in defence than Saka, as well. I would go so far as to say that some of his best work is defensive.

He's used to playing in front of a crap defence!

Anyway, enough about that game last night. Have we signed anyone else yet or are then any substantiated rumours of a new striker or two (and a few defenders) scratchchin

No signings that I have seen...usual rumours around past targets coming to the surface again like En Nasyri

Given we almost signed a centre back from Brazil (personal terms couldnt be agreed) and we signed the 18 year old from there, wouldnt be surprised if the team are focusing out there to try and bring in potential rather than proven talent, possibly due to financial restrictions.

I did read on the grapevine they are looking to let Downes go.

Alvarez was injured over the weekend playing for Mexico - that may have a bearing on the Downes (to Southampton) deal.

Far as I can tell there's nothing positive of note. First pre-season game KO's on 25.07.24 (vs Wolves sleep in Florida).

Actually one of the rumours circulating a couple of weeks ago that has come to pass.

Trott off out and him in, meant to come in as a mentor really from what I heard for the squad balance as well as being a useful 3rd choice.
