Its a fair point, there is money to be had there i.e. sell JWP bring in Downes and have hopefully £30m in your pocket. The Pac 85m loss is going to hit hard.We are going to need a bit of that Brightonesque style magic in the transfer market this year I think in terms of a rebuild, maybe thats actually a good thing.

Thats Downes contract at Southampton, he signed a 5 year deal with us in 2022, still a few years left. Unless we've an option to renew (or I've missed an announcement that it's been extended) Downes' contract appears to expire on Friday.

I do think the main problem was the guy in his exact position was Declan Rice. But then that makes the decision to farm him out after selling him somewhat bizarre. But that was Moyes for you, he would rather have had a thread bare squad and youth subs on the bench that he wont play than have a decent squad player because he doesnt quite fancy him.

I’d assume he’d be essential as a high presser like JWP if J-Lo’s pref style of play is used.Whole point of him dropping to the Championship was to give him game time and experience so hopefully it’s achieved its aim .

Just came onto post the same - no, neither a surprise. Johnson & Mubama "still in talks" apparently, but suspect they will both be off as well. Og's been an excellent signing (and a relative bargain @ E11m).
Leaves Cress & Ant as the remaining WH players who played @ Upton Park.
There have been rumours of Wes Foderingham joining as third choice keeper, apparently J-Lo wanted more experience in that role.
Good luck those leaving, tough on the youngsters.
I doubt also Divin and Ben will resign, they have probably already been tapped up by someone.
