I see Branthwaite has been released from the England squad. Good news for us as less chance of him picking up an injury, he's got plenty of time to earn more caps.
I just really hope we can keep hold of him over the summer, it does sound like he's got a price on his head and we're playing hardball on it for a change

First cap for Jarrad tonight hope it’s the start of more to come
Too soon for him. He's only played 34/35 games in the PL, and the CL last season ![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
The two best English CBs not going. Along with Pickford they've kept 12 or 13 PL clean sheets, a feat better than Arsenal's 15 IMO considering where we are and where they are.
Tarks doesn't even get into the discussion. Also Ben White not going due to previous falling outs.
I don't think many of the mooted back 4 have played many games this season, and some aren't even fit now (but will be)
Potentially good for us in that we might keep him. Potentially bad that if he does leave it will be for cheap (er) as he's a potential England CB, rather than bedded into the squad / first team. If we keep him I think we can demand 100m next summer. Don't think we can keep him longer than that, unless these new guys interested in the club can properly shore up our finances and we can move towards the heady heights of 8th / 9th / 10th
I see there's 4 or 5 parties in the running to buy us at the moment. The 2 local guys in consortium with Micheal Dell of Dell computers sounds interesting. Whilst we couldn't go wild in the aisles transfer shopping again (although the last time we did that was awful), it would be nice to have some money behind us if it clears our debts

Does it put us in a potentially awkward position, in that it might be in our best interests to back City in their spat with the PL? Then we could be playing at the Dell Arena (1b naming rights ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

It's a bit like the Paddy Power advert when that club gets bought by the Saudi's...(Fans were venomously against oil money - until they get some)
FTR, I deplore what City are trying to do. But - how else do sides break into the sly 6? They all (City included) got there by growing their revenues in the time before PSR.

How you would take Dunk over Braithwaith is beyond me, but that’s Safegate all over
Went to the England game last night , the defence all over the place and with loosing stones and Maguire injured I honestly believe if jarrade and tarkowsky where on the pitch we would not of lost .Safegate yes I like that.

It's like he tried to be brave with the 33 but in all honesty it was 6 months too late (and obviously so). So they all (or most) duly got sent home again. Stuck with Henderson and Maguire all through qualifying and then dropped them
"Too early for Branthwaite so I'm going to pick Guehi instead" is a weird call as well.
Defence is one injury short of a crisis and that's before we've even started
I thought we could overload teams, even when playing a low block. We've got the players...but not the manager it seems

Exactly what I said last night one injury in defence will be a calamity. With the abundance of midfield and attacker’s if it were me I would have omitted Bowen ( who will not get a game )and took Branthwaite just in caseIt's like he tried to be brave with the 33 but in all honesty it was 6 months too late (and obviously so). If you believe everything you read we are inundated with buyers queuing up to buy the Club, there do seem a couple of very credible parties, let’s just hope we pick the right one this time. COYB
It does seem a bit odd to grant 777 exclusivity when they didn't have a pot to piss in (or a window to throw it out of), when there are multiple consortiums interested.Possibly the others were put off by PRS points deductions and possible relegation? Has the price increased now we are safe, and BMD opening in 6 months (12 months for PL football)?
According to the BBC a solid bid of £400 million has been tabled from the American consortium with a member of the Saudi Royal family involved. From what I can see now the new Stadium is more visible it’s a definite draw to potential bidders, we just need to make sure it’s the right one for us.

Just passing on that Mr Bell is apparently in talks today, from a solid source, so hopefully some news today or tomorrow. Looks like Dan Friedkin who also owns Roma will be the next owner of our club. A period of exclusivity has been granted to conclude the deal.
Anyone know anything about him or how Roma has been run? I know they finished 6th this season and sacked Jose. Other than that I'm in the dark....

No idea about how well Roma is run, but Dan is nice chap, and a bloody good pilot, and the Friedkin family own a large and very expensive collection of airworthy WW2 aircraft, several of which they base here in the UK and in Europe for the airshow season...and often flies with the US Airforce Heritage Flights, as well as doing flying for film work.Anyone know anything about him or how Roma has been run?
Very astute businessman.....and not short of a few quid.

Does this cause a problem if we make the Europa League?? Anyone know anything about him or how Roma has been run? I know they finished 6th this season and sacked Jose. Other than that I'm in the dark....

Official interest from Arsenal for Onana...let's get this done to remove the PSR pressure. Then stick to our guns with Branthwaite - hopefully keep him, but certainly don't sell him for such a ridiculously low figure.
He seems to have cut costs and improved revenue for Roma who were financially in a similar situation to us, so at least he's got experience of running a s
t show ![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)
Has invested in youth which is always good to hear. As is that info from Aeropilot, having grown up on air bases myself I'm quite partial to old planes![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Dan used to fly at Duxford here in UK every year in the Flying Legends Airshow, and the Friedkin family warbird collection includes 8 x P-51 Mustangs (yes eight!), 6 x Spitfires, 2 x F-8 Bearcats, 2 x F-86 Sabre jets, a Me109, a P-47, a P-40, a F-6 Hellcat, a F-4 Wildcat....and more that I can't remember of the top of my head.....the collection is worth over a $100m. He's not aloof, and is always happy to talk to joe public at airshows etc.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
