There is one club but the journalist who broke the story is not at liberty to name them…any educated guesses?

Possibly Chelsea due to their links.
I also didn't realise their new shirt sponsor is linked.

Actually, you might be right because they are in a desperate situation if the rules remain as they are.

Boehly has links with PIF as well.

Think I saw somewhere it was a combination of Chelsea, Newcastle and Villa that were falling in behind City.

Edit - replacing Everton with Villa, which makes a lot more sense.

Ten Hag was right in his interview about Mainoo.

Don't blow him up and then pull him down as that's what you guys do! Just be calm.

So one newspaper rated him 4 for last night, blaming him for the goal.

Rice got rated 5 with comment: not great, needs someone better than Mainoo beside him

FFS...

Alternatively Maybe Mainoo needs someone better than rice alongside him ?
I don’t rate England’s midfield or defence regardless of who plays .

He's young and learning. Occasional lapses will happen, but he was also just voted FA Cup player of the season... so for a 'journalist' to pile on with lack of nous comments etc is pretty stty. It's our media to a tee though, ETH was absolutely correct in what he said.

They majority of them (the sports media) are nothing more than self serving asshats and the thin layer covering it most of the time frequently drops around England reporting especially. Noticeable questions on if Mainoo was good enough were published in the telegraph even before half time (must have been in some part prepared pre game), Saka being the picture boy on all the papers shouting about the loss despite not playing much in the game. It's not hard to see there is a different level of reporting for some players with certain characteristics.

FA wants to stand up against racism, kneel to show it matters and is important. Well stand up to it everywhere then and kick some of these morons back into the 70's where they belong.

Hang on, are we the bad guys now? (Everton)

Must say it feels odd and I'm not supporter of what city have done / are doing / are trying to do. "Spend what you like" is madness and will just hyper inflate transfer fees and player wages. It didn't work out for us last time we came into a bit of money either, Moshiri took us from top 6 to bottom 4 in double quick time frown

I do think there's a discussion to be had though about "new money" clubs. Else the clubs which invested pre PSR are always going to rule the roost. It hasn't ended particularly well for any club who managed to break into the top 4, spurs aside (possibly, although you could argue they are a big club, trophies aside smile ). I'd cite lack of squad depth I guess off the top of my head.

You guys ponying up the (proper) cash for Branthwaite, or trying to nick him on the cheap btw? Seen on twitter you're skint til July 1st (PSR), that true? 80m is still a bargain, he'll be 100m next season. Might even get into the England squad (again). Mad that he isn't going to the Euro's...obviously no truth in the rumour Southgate didn't pick him cos he wants to get him on the cheap biggrin

No idea about how much we can spend. It all depends on who goes and what fees we will get for them.

Branthwaite isn't worth 80m and no chance 100m next season. He is a good young prospect, but I can't see our new owners forking out that kind of cash when players in Europe are better and cheaper.

Buy one of those then :shrugs:

If Maguire was worth 80m 4/5 years ago, Branthwaite is worth every bit as much, and more. Genuinely stunned that other fans can't see it. And that he's not on the bench at least for the Euros. Think he'll end up at City or Real Madrid tbh, hopefully in 12 months time (or, dare I say, longer?)

Not trying to sell him to you, but:

We may have paid £80m for HM, however he wasn’t worth anywhere near that amount, surely you realise that? Leicester absolutely rinsed us and, in our usual style, we negotiated terribly and paid a ridiculous fee for a very average defender.

Those days had better be over.

Doesn't matter what we paid for Maguire, and to be honest we massively overpaid. You might think he is worth 80m but I doubt your get that for him. Especially with Everton needing cash quick.

Apparently Tuchel has ruled himself out of the United job, having a career break. It seems SJR and Tuchel had some to talks in Monaco.

Not clear if we offered him the role and he said no. Or we never offered it to him, but he wanted to come out first and say he declined it etc.
