Was just about to say it can't be anything more than a publicity stunt shirly ? Doesn't sound like the chairman is expecting too many trophies ?

To be fair, I think the Chairman knows exactly what he's doing.

Fleetwood's achievements have been huge, yet they're still pretty low-profile. This addresses that in spades.

I bet Pilley already has a real manager ready to jump in when the time (soon) comes.

I think he trained with Fleetwood a few years back whilst serving a ban so presumably the chairman has seen him before.

He cannot make any complaint about the clubs facilities. I'm currently sat in the cafe bar at their training ground, Poolfoot Farm having some lunch. Very impressive setup.

It's extremely frustrating as he is quite an intelligent bloke but he has the common sense/temperament of a 4 year old.
