We've made a couple of loan signings, a freebie and the others are being paid in installments which helps us no end. That's why we didn't activate Cornet's release fee, we wanted to pay £5m up front and the rest on the never never. Wages wise, we've saved quite a chunk off the wage bill this summer as well.
Part of me thinks we're kicking the can down the road, but then with the new stadium we should have a better revenue stream coming in
If we don’t get some goal scorers in the squad we could be in Div1 by the time that opens, and then it won’t be a boost to income it will be a white elephant with lots of empty seats. I’ve never been more convinced of relegation at the start of the season than I am right now.
Last year our squad looked half decent, but still we were in dire trouble.
Our goal scoring threat appears to have evaporated. We’ve sold our main striker and an already crap DCL is injured.
We will be relegated before the end of March.

Do you have any numbers for the stadium project?
Great to have a new ground, but at 13k increase in capacity and with limited broader appeal, it may not be a huge money spinner given the funding costs. Estimated cost is £500m which is about 1/2 the cost of the Spurs ground in absolute terms, and then you have to add in the very painful construction inflation. There must be substantial cost risk to the project. Assume that is being borne by the club?
I read ages ago that it's the shortage of corporate hospitality that hinders Goodison, plus I think the new stadium will be more suitable to host gigs etcGreat to have a new ground, but at 13k increase in capacity and with limited broader appeal, it may not be a huge money spinner given the funding costs. Toothless.
We don’t have a player capable of scoring double figures this season.
We don’t have a player capable of getting five.
The couple of wins we’ve had have given false hope. Other teams will pull themselves out of trouble. They have players that can score goals. They will score goals.
You can’t stay up without scoring goals. It’s not enough.

Referee was poor, Maupay’s challenge on Dier was never a yellow card, and Kane’s swan dive after the slightest of touches from Pickford was just embarrassing, but he’s the England skipper so he can do no wrong. We didn’t deserve a win but after the two missed first half chances I knew we’d get nothing out of the game. Where was Sons yellow card for his blatant dive in the first half?
Clear penalty. Totally accidental so no card but nailed on pen. Pickford head butts Kane just below the left knee. Causes his left foot to slip bringing him down. Edited by tdm34 on Sunday 16th October 01:40
