“I spoke with Peter during the week and we discussed a few things and we both decided we’d go our separate ways. It’s very straightforward. Peter’s a top coach and a good man, but we both decided we’d go our separate ways in terms of working together. It didn’t work out and I wish Peter well.”

Too right.
Keane's doing a fine job. He doesn't need a proven coach poking his nose in.

Peter Taylor is an excellent coach. What a fool.

hehe

It's all I have at the moment.

Hopefully we'll break the curse tomorrow.

If we don't then I'm happy to concede we'll probably be doomed.

I am also cringing at the irony of Jim Magilton making it into second position tonight.

A very big well done to Roy Keane and Ipswich Town. A first win in the Championship at their 15th attempt! Most managers would have been sacked a long time ago for failing to win a match after so many games. Look at Middlesbrough and Southgate, two points off the top of the league and he's given the Spanish Archer. Let's see where Ipswich will finally finish at the end of the season.

Ipswich are odds on to get their first win against us tomorrow.
Our away form is shocking and if ever a team is on a bad run we are gauranteed to end it and give them a kick start.
I'd love to be proved wrong of course but its all set up for your 1st win.
Nice to know we were predictable!

just listened to Roy Keane being interviewed on BBC website after the game, he sounded completely different?

Really sounded like a different man to what we usually hear, odd. In a good way though.

Not strictly true.

We won the last 3 games of the season last year that he was in charge for.

Hence why this years form has been so baffling.

I did actually mean the 15 games this season. Yes, I was surprised it took them so long after the form they showed at the back end of last season. Perhaps it's taken a while for all Keane's incoming players to gel. I certainly don't think you are the worst team in that league by a long chalk.

No, they are not. Most of the time they are playing really well, but that final something has been missing.....goals!

Exactly. That's been my point all along. We play good football (Newcastle match excludedd) but seem to want to walk the ball into the net.

You going to the open top bus parade tomorrow then CVM? hehe

I'm looking on the bright side, it's bought Mad Roy a few more games at least. It could even mean he gets to spunk more of the arms dealer's cash on overpriced rubbish in January.

Had to happen sooner or later I suppose.
But you can't polish a turd.

On a (slightly) serious note, the debt at Ipswich has now risen to 37m after a rise of over 10m since the last accounts were published.

The difference in income from Championship to L1 is huge, even if you manage to maintain crowds of 25,000 (which you can't even now) like we have.

How long is Evans going to bankroll the club if you drop to L1? His business plan seems to depend on promotion to the Premiership, not relegation to the 3rd tier.
