I'd already said that the Swiss will be too good for Scotland to get anything from their game ,today's game confirmed this .

Spain very strong ,Croatia aren't mugs but just couldn't beat the Spanish onslaught .

Italy were good ,not great , after the scary start ,should have scored more .
I'm a big fan of Nicolo Barella .

Slovenia came back into that pretty well. They made Denmark look pretty average overall (and maybe they are but they would still have expected to win today). Good result for whoever wins tonight's game. Not particularly an England fan but they should really get out of the group pretty easily. On paper.

Strange that there isn't any comment here since 1 hour before England's kick off ,so here's my 2 Euros worth .

I didn't get home and turn on the tv until literally 30 seconds before kick off , so I had no idea who was playing for Serbia , unable to remember who even plays for them .
I soon heard Mitrovic named and he's a bit handy in front of goal but their superstar name for me is Vlahovic , so I knew they were not going to be a walkover .Pickford had to save a late effort from him . English Prem clubs were sniffing around Vlahovic a year or 2 back but he staying In Italy I believe .

So 1-0 win for me is acceptable , Kane's effort pushed onto the bar ,so close but ....... Slovenia should be the weakest in this group ....."should!"

Everyone commented in the England thread last night. Usual "England were bad, Southgate doesn't know what he's doing" stuff. England fans have been complaining about the national team for as long as I can remember so nothing new. Some of it was justified last night.

They made a good start, then lost control of the game for large periods. Not uncommon for England really. Ultimately they started with a win and given the other 2 teams in the group drew, they can qualify in their next game. Some hugely gifted players don't seem to do it for England very often. Not everyone can play in their preferred position so some clearly need to be better at adapting.
