Oh great!

I tell you what mate, just take the whole club out there and do the rest of us a favour! Maybe give Liverpudlians what they want and be their own republic! Move them to an island off of the east coast whilst you’re there.
Jesting aside, stuff like this really annoys me more than any of the financial doling stuff.

Surely the 'merican soccer franchises would block that?https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/...

The buffet counter has a huge sigh of relief as the club announces the termination of N'Belly's contract by mutual consent, effective 30th June.
TFFT.
So they paid him the remaining £5m of his contract? What a waste.TFFT.
Imagine being that talented and quitting as soon as you sign your first big contract, not even reached your peak yet.

He's taken us for nearly £50m, more than enough to live on for the rest of his life. I very much doubt he was ever in it to become a footballing legend, he just wanted one big pay day.
He comes across as the type of moron to have about 50 hangers on bleeding him dry whilst fetching him burgers. I predict within a few years he'll be broke and wobbling round the pitch on a pay to play contract in Latin America.
I think I might have been his biggest critic on here since his first game for us.
I saw quite a few red flags from watching him straight away. I can forgive a lot of things but any lack of effort on the pitch or inability to get in match shape and I put the boot in straight away.
Any player on any team who's head drops when he has to run back and defend should be out on his ear in double quick time.

I do remember you being quite vocal in your dislike for him. I just don't understand how someone with the talent he obviously has, doesn't want to do anything with it. Such a weak minded mentality.I saw quite a few red flags from watching him straight away. I was a fan of disco Benny. I remember him getting pelters for saying it was just a job to him, although tbf, he usually put a shift in. Point is they're all just a microcosm of us. I've never bought into the equation that the sheer level of reward & privilege automatically translates into dying for the badge. Plenty of players over the years went a bit too human & burnt through their careers. Who was that Man City kid, Michael Johnson? Threw it all away & ended up an estate agent I think.
I've known a couple over the years too & while it's not being down the mines, I've been told it can be a boring life. Travel, hotels, huge amounts of self denial while your mates live it up in their twenties, relentless training. All of which I would take in a heartbeat by the way but just pointing out some kids experience it, without seeing the other side of life, as a dull existence. We know this too from all the gambling & bck in the day, drinking that went on.

Peter Crouch tells a great story of how Benny used to rock up on a Saturday at 1:30 for a 3pm kick off with a croissant, a hot chocolate, a bag of salt and vinegar crisps and a coke as his pre match meal and ask who they were playing that day.
