Quote from Tom Werner, in a recent interview with the Financial Times:
"I’m determined one day to have a Premier League game be played in New York City.
"I even have the sort of crazy idea that there would be a day where we play one game in Tokyo, one game a few hours later in Los Angeles, one game a few hours later in Rio, one game a few hours later in Riyadh and make it sort of a day where football, where the Premier League, is celebrated."
Proving again that Americans really don't understand football. Alternatively, you could say they think outside the box the rest of us are stuck in, I suppose...
Saw this mentioned in the WUM thread yesterday. Rent free and all that."I’m determined one day to have a Premier League game be played in New York City.

In the same interview, however, Liverpool’s owner, John Henry, said the idea was “not something that I advocate or am particularly interested in”.

What would they say to playing a PL game in South Korea?
Hopefully this idea goes the way of the ESL and Henry tells Werner to shut up.
Unfortunately a few owners would like this if it made more revenue including their convicted insider trading chairman.
There is some interesting chat on the City thread of the implications if they are FFP punished and how the State owned clubs might react

Not good news for Hansen, always liked him as a pundit, even if he had a red bias Hope he recovers quickly

Anyone wondering why there's been so little PR about "new boss Slot" by the usually overkill LFC PR dept after he started in post on 1 June - he's on holiday in Ibiza.

Jokes aside, glad we've not heard from Slot yet and that he's getting some much needed rest and relaxation. Plenty of time for all the interviews and media, which as we all know will be relentless once it starts. The amount of media duties over time probably contributed to Klopp leaving.
