Yeah, they're not exactly the same but, debt in perpetuity (via stake selling etc) is still a dead end. The wheels will fall off at some point, won't they? If that's 10, 15, 20, 50 years time, does it really matter?
How sustainable do clubs need to be? Open question, i don't have an answer.

Inflation erodes the debt over time, coupled to an increasing value of the actual asset over time.
It’s a typical PE play. As long as you’ve got an asset that covers the interest payment with a strong income stream you can move it on essentially in perpetuity and rip more capital out over periods at much cheaper rates than divs/income.
Repayment of capital innit?

Just reading that.
So much for the league wanting clubs to be more sustainable by bringing through their own talent. These ridiculous rules now mean that selling them makes the most sense.
Absolutely disgusting that it comes to this. Something has to change and quickly, this ‘big six’ protectionism cannot be allowed to continue.

These PSRs are just crazy.
We Forest have to get in 20m by the end of the day, yet go and buy Anderson from you for around 30m.
Ludicrous!
I guess we have some sales going through which will cover the 20m and we are amortizing Anderson over a long term contract?
It's all smoke and mirrors.

I'm sad to see Anderson go. He's young, he's a Geordie and he's a good technically. He's stronger than he looks and is an intelligent player. I really hope he does well at Forest. Regardless of how much money he has gone for, it weakens us in depth, and I'd rather have seen Almiron leave.
Looks like we've finally agreed a number for Ashworth to join Man United. Just in time for PSR. Wonder how much we caved on to get the cash in time?

Edit: Oh wait deadline was yesterday, ignore me then.

Disappointed Anderson is going, he seems to be an up and coming improving player.
As for Anthony Gordon, next time GS asks him to come along he should cry injured (oh wait Shaw did that and got dragged along anyway.
Must be so frustrating for AG et al, sitting watching the dross they are currently playing, even if they do eek out a win eventually. At least we can go for a coffee, have a pee etc

Do wonder how much we got out of manure and how much the delay was due to their own ffp issues? Weirdly coincidental that they found a fiver down the back of the sofa the day after the deadline.
Wonder if that potentially made us have to sell Anderson? £20m & £33m for Minteh perhaps would’ve been enough?
Despicable club.
