Maybe not. Ineos own Nice and 25% of Man U. They apparently can't both be in the same competition. As Nice qualified thru league position, Man U may have to drop into the Europa Conference and we'll get our place back.
I can't see this happening myself, but stranger things have happened.Apparently the cut off is Monday?

Worryingly they’ve said he will be a coach and have little input on recruitment. I agree Poch should have had another season.
I suspect that's why we parted company with Poch - he wanted (not unreasonably IMO) more of a sayHard to understand why the club feels that they have a better idea of what the team needs than the coach - I guess that they're just looking at player stats and going for the ones where they think that they can add some value and flip them on in a couple of years rather than going all in to build a cohesive team for the present.

Plus, 5 year contract again like Potter, so he'll be on a nice payoff in 12 months time when they sack him......

I did think he would be a target manager if LFC did well, he's studied under pep, it's the holy grail at the moment.
Let's get behind the new manager though this season, you all realise what a cluster fck our board is now and we'll just have to hope the football is played as per what we saw the last half of this season.
I think with our board structure we've moved into it earlier due to the Roman situation. Bin dippers have new backroom management along with Ratcliffe FC so let's see.

There is a distinction between a coach and a manager and the club have decided which model they want to use. Given the long term contracts the players have then it makes perfect sense. The only problem, of course, is we need to find a long term coach and stop chopping and changing like we do.

5 year contract..............!
It was being said on the radio today that the five years is dependent on agreed targets being hit in year 1, 2, 3 etc. So it's only going to cost us to sack him if he hits the target and the club still wants rid of him, maybe because he wants to pick the team or some other ego trip. Maybe this is why Poch went then? No Champions league so no extension.968 said:

This is received wisdom but I'm not sure why. Coaches, good ones , spend their time coaching, not constantly looking at potential signings . They certainly at best form opinions based on the "eye" test rather than data. Jose was a great coach if rather pragmatic to be honest but he was no great judge of a player as far as I can see. Outing De Bruyne and Salah not the only complete f

I have only limited hope about how this will pan out but not because coaches should be unerringly trusted with recruitment.
