Driving through my local town earlier today, there were two policia local, randomly stopping traffic (like a checkpoint).

I wass under the impression that the PL had no juristiction of motoring offences/documentation/etc. However a friend informed me this has recently changed.

Does anyone know whats going on?!

Cheers.

I have been stopped by both the locals and the guardia, usually the latter though. I have been told that the guardia don't get involved with traffic on the coast, its always the locals. Trafico is the locals isn't it? There is a special traffic car up my way which is guardia.

While I don't know for sure the answer to your question I would think its both.

I´ve been stopped by both the Guardia Civil and the local police, occasionally they check the documents but usually just wave me through after I´ve stopped. Get the impression that they are looking for a particular profile and if you don´t fit they are not interested.
Got stopped by the Guardia in the Caterham a while back, he asks what kind of car, I say Caterham he doesn´t understand, goes on like this for a few minutes until I give up and say Lotus, that seemsed to satisfy him and I get waved through.
I stopped a Guardia car last month, it was dark, I was following him, he had no rear lights although I could see his headlights were on. He pulled over, I pulled over in front of him, got out of the car asked him to get out and look at his rear lights. He was initially a little uptight but when he realised he was quite thankful. Other way round.....
Left them both banging on their lights trying to get them to work!

Yes, blowing thier toot toot wistles, and waving thier arms about like they have flies.
Meanwhile, the whole bloody town is gridlocked becuase of thier total incompitence at directing the traffic!

If you want to break a Policia Local's fingers, just kick him up the arse!

Kill them all, then give the money saved to the Guardia Civil.

You should know by now that you cannot become Policia Local unless you were born brain dead with dark glasse & a whistle as a standard implant.

You are absolutely spot on about them, they are a load of complete wkers, they hate being told that they are only traffic wardens not real policemen.
