Direct seguros

Don't ever, ever, think about using them!
My Wife ang I have had two full policies with them for over 7 years. I've had problems with them recently. Today my Wife had to call them. That was the last straw!
Useless. Absolutrely useless!
ETA, we won't be renewing either of the policies when they lapse this year.

Update. After 4 years of waiting for court decisions, and appeal on an earlier court decision. I received the results from the appeal yesterday. (I wasn't even informed of the hearing by my insurance company lawyer!)
I get Nada........
Reading through the judges findings is a joke! I don't know what planet these guys live on, but it ain't the same one as me! It stinks, and it's Bullst!
So if you have a "full" insurance through Direct Seguro's (The underwriters are AXA) you will not get your money back for a hire car, and you will not get back the excess you will have to pay before they send out a Perito.
I shouldn't have had to pay an excess, becuase the accident wasn't my fault, but they wouldn't send him untill I paid it.
I lost my work vehicle for 3 months (I'm autonimo) so I had to hire a Citroen Berlingo to get around, and carry my tools. I paid 390 euro excess to get the perito out. The car was badly repaired, I refused to take it back three times.
In the end, I accepted it, sold it, and bought a new truck.
I'm 4k out of pocket. Without taking into account what it cost to sell my 3 year old truck, and shell out nearly 30k on a new one.
I'm going to forget it now and get on with my life.
You have been warned.

I had a similar problem with Mapfre on my household policy..........I had just had built for me by a builder a new house, and had just moved in when we had a torrential thunderstorm, yep sure as eggs are eggs the internal guttering leaked as the builder hadnt soldered the lead guttering, instead had stuck some tape at all the corners and it went right through the ceilings and air con units.
I am still in the court stage and that case was over 10 yrs ago in Andalucia, I wont let up irrespective of the money now as it has become a matter of principal, the Architect & the Aparajedor have paid but the builder is a real old dodger so it's him I'm after now and will do till I catch him.
It's about other people getting caught out by him now that's what I want to stop, next stage is you will see it in the daily spanish papers..
An the insurance company refused to pay out as it was a new house for fecks sake, spanish insurance on anything = very dodgy and seriously expensive.
We should start a locked thread about where to contact to get the best house insurance, motor /motorcycle, boat insurance or anything else

what you say,but all the expieriences i have had with all manner/forms of insurance in spain are negative.you can begin to see why so many spanish people don't bother with home insurance, they just shrug when their house gets broken into for the fouth time by the local romanian/algerian/morrocan outfit.oh well at least the sun is shining.
Same here. I had a basic policy with Mapfre for my Golf Cabrio, for over 7 years.
Unfourtunately, I switched to Direct Robbers, becuase Mapfre where very expensive for a full cover on my new truck. Ha! Ironic isn't it? If I'd have stuck with them, a basic cover would have been better than the thieves I switched to.
I had a breakdown in the Golf once, in Palma. I called Mapfre recovery, and a truck arrived in literaly ten minutes. Dropped the car back home for me, an 80km trip. No charge.
Then one time, I had a couple of youths off a moped. Hit me bang in the middle of the front wing. Boy you should have seen them fly! Mapfre paid for the ambulance. No charge to me. (They came through a red light. Two up, no licence, no insurance, high as a kite!) Mapfre also offered assistance to get my car repaired, but I fixed it myself. No point in trying to get anything out of the yoofs.
Not bad for a basic insurance.
But with Direct Robbers/AXA.........
I had a bit of a parking ding recently, my fualt, no one around, so I thought right, do the right thing, and leave a note.
It wasn't as bad as one I had to put right on my wifes car recently (Of course the culprit didn't leave a note.) which cost me 300 euro to put right.
The owner of the car rang me, so I though may as well put it through the insurance, that's why I have a full policy, right? (First time in my life I ever made a claim for a knock, except for the Moped incident, which incidently wasn't my fualt)
She took the car to the same repair shop, so I know it would've been arount 250-300 euro.
Next rebewal, and these bds at Direct robbers had put my prmium up by 400 euro!
I'm paying over 900 euro for a worthless insurance, so as my truck is now 4 years old, I'm switching back to Mapfre basic, for 500 a year.
At least with Mapfre, you don't have to pay up front for a hire car if you need it.
