Insuring a classic car stored at holiday house in Spain
Discussion
I've got a place in Spain that I get to about once or twice a year. The house is in my name and I'm registered with the town hall.
I want to buy a mid 1980s Santana to keep there. I won't apply for the historical registration. Last year I tried to buy a 1983 Mercedes but getting insurance on such an old car when it would be my only vehicle proved problematic. Was I just talking to the wrong broker?
I appreciate they are all closed at the moment but has anyone insured a classic in Spain as their only car, kept at a holiday home?

I too am after a Santander but as a second car so never really contemplated the "only car" point on a classic. If its not registered on historic plates it seems bad that you cannot insure on a standard policy a car that is simply a few years old (rather than it being on historic plates). Be interested to hear how you get on.
