Private registration Spain

I have my UK car in Spain and going to get it re-registered in the next couple of months.
It currently has a private reg on it which will be going on retention but I was just wondering if you can get private reg's in Spain or possibly request certain numbers/letters when initially getting registered.

Tried searching on google but its just loads of re-registering related topics.

No, unfortunately you just have to take what you get in Spain. Private registrations do not exist. I have noticed a few high end vehicles with maybe a round number on the end eg 5000. No doubt they got them by knowing somebody or crossing their palms with silver (more likely).

Of course, the way the system is here, you will get a new registration for 2014 rather than one to match the age of your car, so your car will appear brand new to the uninitiated.
