Wouldn't mind asking a few questions, both as to residing in the area and anyone that can comment on commuting on/off the Rock (assuming the silliness settles down).

Living in Gib, PM me if you need any help. Few people in my office live in Sotogrande.

Park your car in the sandpit at La Linea for 1€ a day and walk across the border.

Assuming you get there before 8.30 frown

Op, there's a few of us in soto. I'm about 5 minutes east of there.

Happy to answer any questions you might have.

I just moved away from Sotogrande but still commute into Gib from La Cala de Mijas.

I rent a private parking space for €70 per month and just commute in with a fold up bike. If you have a bike carry bag, you can combine the best of both worlds and simply choose the pedestrian queue or cycle queue as you wish.

Works great. I think the longest I've ever queued is 30 minutes.

That's quite a long daily commute? Can I ask why you moved to La Cala?

Funnily enough beanbag, I'm moving to San Pedro in the morning, and I thought my commute was going to be bad.

Might be interested in your parking arrangements though.

I totally lost track of this thread over Christmas! Sorry!

The commute isn't too bad but it's still 93km each way which can get a bit tiring but I'm up this way as my girlfriend owns her own home in La Cala de Mijas.

Parking isn't too bad in Gib. I just stick my car in the La Linea Marine car park which costs just €36 which works out cheaper than putting it on the street plus you have a barriered entry / exit and 24/7 security.
