dont do it! 15 years + to never are the current estimations for economic recovery, prices will at best stay depressed but may well fall further. the ambience in spain has changed beyond belief, the spainish continue their rip offs and then there is the crime wave, burglaries and rising costs of living.use the money for nice holidays and save the headaches.

Are you speaking from experience Cabbon or just an educated gut feeling?

My own gut feeling is to hang on or look elsewhere but wanted to hear from resident/holiday home owners of the real situation, not the utopia of the Costas spun by estate agents.

well the 15 years + comment came from a meeting i had with 3 supposed proffessionals, one was a lawyer of a respected standing (costa blanca),another a bank director and the other fella was an estate agent who is still trading, the lawyer and wker oooops banker both agreed to the 15+ to never recovery comment, the estate agent thought maybe 8 years or so. it really is terrible over here, been here 10 years and feel trapped as property is stagnant at best. life here certainly isn't what it was. a huge % of houses in my area have been burgled(its not a bad area-far from it) and usually multiple times. we have been extremely lucky with just 2 attempted-doberman,alsation and shoot do help tho wink buy toys and holidays is my honest advice,or at least look elswhere, spain is utterly fooked.

Good advice.

Spain is heading seriously down the pan. You may well not want to go there in ten years. Do NOT invest in property in Spain or Portugal.

Very, very risky.

Hello mate, mickrick here, living the dream! hehe
Consider the cost of buying the place, the taxes which are being hiked every year, maintenance, keeping the place heated in the winter. That's a lot of Caribbean hollidays!
I'm stuck here now, so just trying to make the most of it. Spain is fooked!

Regards,
Mick.

Don't put a penny into Spain, I lived there for 24 years and always thought it would be my home, but it has changed sooooooooo much, I managed to sell up everything except some land that I have at the back of Marbella, which might be allright for my sons in 20/30 years.
I am in complete agreement with Cabron & Mickrick it is fckd and will be for years.

At the moment we are all looking at Greece, Portugal,Italy and Spain close behind just watch but do this from afar.

You will easily lose your shirt if you are not careful and don't take any notice of the st given to you by all the various Con Agents.

KEEP WELL CLEAR

My 3bed/3bath is colder and just as available to you. laugh

Though given it was 3 degrees this morning, and pissing it down, I won't be surprised when you don't turn up. smile
